Hi all, So following a climbing accident a couple years ago I'm in a wheelchair but still like to spend most of my time outdoors and basically get in as much trouble as possible. I sick of getting dragged out of the wheelchair by my kite (it really freaks people out too) and want to work out a way of kite buggying. I cant use my legs at all so need to be able to steer the buggy by hand, I use a control bar rather than handles so I'd have one hand for each. At the moment I'm thinking that the best thing to do is to have a central lever between my legs, attached to front fork so that I steer left when I push the lever and vice versa. I'm thinking that having…

Hi everyone, I'm Robert, and I'm new to the forum. I recently discovered how much valuable information is being shared here about kite buggies, and that’s exactly why this felt like the perfect place to share my own project and ideas. I managed to get my hands on a buggy for just €100 — mainly to use as a base for reference — but to be honest, it’s such a rough self-built model that it almost brings tears to your eyes when you see it in person. So I’ve decided to design and build my own custom kite buggy from the ground up, using this one as a rough starting point and hopefully improving it with the help of your input and ideas. My Plan: I want …

Morning all This seems to be the right place to ask the following - how do I get started in bugging?! I'm a 46yo kid who grew up flying stunt kites. I'm camping at Pt Leo at the minute, and at low tide yesterday there was no one on the beach, the wind was constant, and the beach stretches for miles. Felt like a buggy would be a good idea. A quick google didn't reveal a huge number of retail options for a buggy set up, and then found this forum. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to get an entry level set up - other than hunt on marketplace! Cheers all Tim

We've got another Kiter amongst us, my father He's purchased his first buggy, a Zebra! Just when you think you've seen it all someone comes up with a great new idea, the original owner modified the footpegs in a way I had never thought. He used small mountain bike bar extensions/verticle grips attached to the straight footpeg then drilled a hole and mounted the heel strap. For anyone else that has a Zebra and wondering, it's actually a really simple, non-destructive modification.

Hello all! Now this might go unseen as I am not sure how many people may remember my father AndyFly (Andrew, Andy) who sadly passed in 2011 from a seizure. His passion was kiting, buggying, and mostly, being apart of the BrisKites & Extremekites community. On the long weekend of Easter in 2012 my family and I travelled to Yeppoon to meet with many of the kiting community as we remembered dad for who he was, alongside an event that he loved attending (with us AndyFly "maggots" joining the fun 😂) as we scattered some of his ashes on the beach out the front of Driftwood. Our family has so many fond memories of so many different people within this community, and the…

It's been a while since I've flown or visited the forum but this news report of Geoff Wilson's being dragged across the Simpson desert by kite was a nice surprise reminder that there are still some landkiters around. Check it out on : https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-03/geoff-wilson-simpson-desert-recordwind-powered-buggy/101398896#:~:text=After 11 years of trial, buggy attached to a kite.

I convinced myself that I needed this bug for when I'm travelling abroad. The bug packs down into a bag. It is of course BS. When do I ever get to go anywhere? I'm averaging about one holiday every 15 years. 😂 Truth is, I'm a sucker for shiny rims wrapped in fat juicy tyres, so I decided to get one after seeing both Haakon and Bobby O post pictures of theirs on here. Mmmmm, shiny rims 😵

Hi fellow buggy freaks, sorry for asking a typical question from a die hard peter lynn vapor2 user: but what would be a good depower kite to start the depower adventure? i was thinking, it should be open cell, as i frequently go alone, so i need to be able to start and land on my own? i was thinking, a kite with a moderate aspect ratio? Although, will this disappoint me, as the speed will be lower compared to the vapor kites ? so, i ended up with the PL lynx? or Leopard? please advice, looking forward to your massive feedback Vincent

Hi experts, years ago I did some kite buggying in Elwood and thirteenth beach. I am coming back to buggying. Where are the good places to kite buggy in Victoria. Are the videos at Sandy Point on the front beach off beach parade or on Shallow inlet. I appreciate any guidance from your experiences. I am thinking of getting a 4 metre Ozone Explore V2, is it a good kite.

I'm very interested in getting into this hobby but having difficulty to find a close by spot to enjoy. I look for advice from kite buggy folks in Missouri, New Jersey, and New York. Any good areas for kite buggy fun in these three states? Thanks

Ive recently got back into the buggy, its a peter lynn foldable with the original seat. Apart from updating the seat can anyone advise the best way to avoid by lower back being chaffed, I think its the webbing of the seat that does it, does anyone wear a rash vest under their shirts to avoid this, it gets pretty sore!! Many thanks and I don't know why I stopped buggying. i use a 3.5 rage or a 4.5 flexi can't remember the name with a kite bar and love it

Hi All, This is still just sinking in for a few of us who have found out in the last hour, however it is through wet eyes that I type AndyFly passed away earlier today from a seizure. Linda will let us know over the next few days more information, and what the funeral arrangements in Canberra will be, undoubtedly there will be a number of us flying in from all over the country to pay respect to one of the greatest people this community has had the pleasure of knowing. This has come completely unexpected, this morning at 10:10am AndyFly was posting away about a great weekend kiting with his Son and a few of the boys in Canberra ( viewtopic.php?f=74&t=15374 )…
