Hi all I'm thinking about trying to put together a mud map with known locations including wind directions that are wanted / needed including tides allowable to get a kite buggy on as we seem to be spread out across Australia and most travel with the buggy it's a dream of mine to buggy around Australia with friends and family maybe a silly idea but food for thought ?

Nigel's buggy was stolen from Elwood by a female thief. Due to a lengthy disguise of glasses and hat, we've been unable to identify her for some time. We are reopening the cold case and continuing our investigation.

Some photos of the Ozone R1 6M in a Kite Buggy, kite aspect-ratio looks literally incredible. A high-aspect, small depower. Flysurfer take note, need something smaller than that 9M Sonic-FR for the buggies! Photos from Kitezone Muriwai

On 28th January we went to the Rangsdorfer lake just south of Berlin. We ha a couple of weeks temperatures below 0 degree Celsius. The ice was not perfect flat and black but still good enough for us ?. Around 13cm thick ice. The wind was very low at 3-5 knots. Alfred used a 11m Vapor and 14m Yakuza, I used my 12m Diablo and 8m Diablo. Icebuggy is so nice ... love it ! Are there any frozen lakes in AU or NZ? Warm regards from Germany Daniel

So as I progress learning to hydrofoil I find quite a few similarities between hydrofoiling and buggying. Both curiously efficient in light wind. Foiling more efficient believe it on not!.... I use smaller kites on the foil than I do on the buggy. Crazy upwind angles. Don't which is better. its hard to tell. Very similar. Speed is light winds is very similar. I think the foil has it sub 12 knots, the bugger is faster as the wind builds. Kite flying techniques for foiling swell downwind is almost a copycat of buggying downwind in dunes. Much like the buggy because of the crazy upwind and downwind angles you can achieve foiling allows for more adve…

Out testing some footpeg modifications yesterday (to be more comfortable for long periods of time in the buggy) on Wylie Bay beach on the way to Cape Le Grande national park. The winter storms have ripped it to bits this winter and deposited great areas of seaweed and it's really soft in places, (too soft for Midi XL's) Not very wide where it's scoured out. I was launching from in the water in the end. Started off with orange 11mtr R1 and then onto a 15 Mtr Chrono 2. It was 9 -11 knots so no break neck speeds (63.7) and got 105.2 kilometers in before the tide stopped play.

.... I think this is worthy of a post. So tomorrow is finally the day that I'll be a PTW buggy owner =) Driving up to pick up a cougar 2 from near hoylake, then planning a cheeky session somewhere while I'm up there, and by God I can't wait. Also getting a 2.8 reactor too =) Is there any good kite shops up that way as I could do with some new lines potentially for one of my kites, and some sleeving for a snapped line set I have and want to make a set of 10m lines with. If not I can always stop off at powerkiteshop.com on the way as I'll be going right past them. Will be sure to get some pics and video too.
