Nice drone footage from today on Farnborough Beach at Yeppoon. Step-daughter's boyfriend Johnnie just trying out his new drone and camera. Ant out on his board and me on the Sysmic with 5m Method - a perfect winters day in Qld...?

Looks like Craig Hansen and Gavin Mulvay are just starting a Mad Way Mongolia trip which should be a distance record if they achieve it. A 3000km unsupported kite buggy trip through Mongolia armed with the 'latest generation single skin traction kites' designed by Michel Dekker. Some appear based on the usual NPW style format and another photo I saw seemed to be similar to the Peak. Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/madwaymongolia - the photos are well worth a look through. Here's a sample: (some of these photos are of the training in NZ pre trip....)

Anyone built one before? I’m looking to buy an off the shelf carbon tube. Looking for ways to attach either a threaded fitting to the end or a stud.

Hey gang, I wanted to share this with you guys here at XK... As usual, I spent the week after JIBE with the family on Saint Simons Island, GA. Last year, I figured out that I could log some primo time in the buggy seat between the hours of 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm... sunset sessions. The tide is perfect, the beach goers have all gone home except for the stragglers and locals, and East Beach is just as awesome as Jekyll Island as far as hardback and size is concerned. I got to know Jim (a Saint Simons local) pretty well at JIBE this year, so he met me a couple of nights, and another local, Johnny showed up every night as well. These have been some of my best unadulterated …

Here's some footage from Dingley park last weekend. Hopefully the angles will give you all a better perspective of the location for buggying / landboarding. Wind was from the north and at about 15 knots (dropping off as the sun set). Kite is 12.5 Montana. First time out with the drone (lots to learn).

Hi , I am looking for solutions for mudguards on the rear of my land yacht/buggy. the beach i use tends to stay fairly wet even at low tide so there is a fair bit of spray flying around. my initial idea was to use trailer mudguards or some kind of mud flap like on trucks. any ideas let me know. the mudguard/flap is not that difficult, its how to mount them that may be the problem.

Some interesting work by Ate Eilander, working with Basalt Fiber to create new axles and parts. There's a bit lost in translation between us, however he's shared some other pictures in his gallery listed below of trials/errors as he's refined the wall thickness etc working with some as light as 1mm. He's testing Basalt Fiber in place of Carbon around seeing how much bounce one absorbs vs the other and returning the energy after absorption. You can see more of Ate's work here using both Basalt and Carbon: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMoW7og07eBnvHc7HjwXgZYBIDLf7v-Yx2-czldR0EULsG6fG1jKt-MIZngemXvQA?key=NFJLYlR2cGpxM3hydkkwdjFZR…

Hi all how many people would consider going to a international festival overseas near or far I'm interested in the huge racing that they run in Europe pros and cons obviously getting buggys there and back but maybe we could lease some shit I'd consider buying one there then selling it when you leave cons getting involved in a huge regatta putting a team together (team Aussie ) or the Aussie Extream Team any takers
