Hi all. Just joined. And need to know what model this buggy is. Need to freshen it up with some bearing. Think it's been in the loft for about 10 plus years. Thanks ian

As my bug has serious egg shape in the rims that cause me to fear for my life when I hit 35 kph I started to look at new tyre / rim combinations that make for a smooth ride but are still affordable. I really like the size / profile of the tyres on @Chook's sysmic and came across these which I think may be similar. https://www.geotyres.com.au/16x6-50-8-k401-8-ply-kenda-straight-rib-tyre/ Has anyone had experience with these tyres? If so any Ideas on the rims they would fit on and where to get them.

Hi all, Figured now would be as good a time as any to say "Hi" from England.... I'm new to this forum, in fact any kite forum, but have been lurking here in the shadows for a few months very much enjoying your old posts. My limited kite history then... I purchased a Flexifoil Stacker 6' as a teenager (prob about 30 years ago) and it's lived in my car boot for years. So it got flown several times a year when the wind blew and I loved it, but I never really had the time or desire to do anything more with kites.... Covid lockdown hit and I decided flying in an empty field was a safe bet so got back into it a little last year. I purchased a FF 'Big…

Now I love my old Sysmic 2's but this is really compact! All alloy and into a bag for travel which is pretty cool. Or just folds up. And a fibreglass axle. http://www.buggykiteshop.com/index.php/buggy/sysmic-s3-a.html

An awesome session on the clay pan at Kingston SE, Australia - by far the best I've felt in the buggy yet. Probably cos of the harness thanks to @The Duke. Captured, edited and soundtracked by the inimitable @jhn.holgate. Can't wait for next year!

After VERRRRYY long break I finally got out on the buggy today. It was only a short one. About an hour and a half down at the much renovated Apex Park at Altona. 30+km SE wind with the trusty little 4m Ozone Access 2. I had really forgotten how much fun it is. Hopefully I'll get out a bit more over coming weeks.

My wife has been asking me about the strange bruises on my hips - it took me a while to work out what they are from too... A possible solution?

I know, the title sucks. This is a short video. Just me out riding while testing my new storm kite, a secondhand eBay special, a barely used 5m Cabrinha SwitchBlade. I have been wanting one for years but they've always been too expensive new and I have never known them to come up for sale second-hand in this size, until now. To be honest, this video is not worth watching expect maybe for the squall at the beginning which i found interesting. No speed run this time as the wind died down after the squall to about 24 -27 knots with a cross-cross-on direction which meant I was buggying almost directly downwind at times with the kite underpowered and stalling. …

An exciting day! At Sutcliffe Reserve in Corio, with my vintage 3m Quadrifoil. Probably needed a bit more wind 😂 There were a couple of faster bursts but they weren’t captured of course... Needless to say, it was a thrill and I can’t wait for the next session! IMG_0648.mov

Jon (@Kitebuggybagman) for the past 15 years has made Bags, Seats and Accessories for kite buggies. It would be great to see what people have purchased from Jon over the years, feel free to share a few photos. @roblukin and I had our seats embroidered with the Extreme Kites logo and our race numbers. Jon let me know the type and thickness of the material, I went and looked at some samples here in Australia to find the 'right orange' and had it shipped to Jon to be stitched in to the seat. Small, personal customisations like that is what I loved about the experience. @igeighty & @nigel (pictured below) had the grey/black versions.

A video from last Sunday testing a gps speedometer that finally arrived from China on the Friday before. I bought it on Amazon without checking the delivery times or where it was coming from. I just assumed it was being shipped locally, so I ended up waiting a whole month for it to arrive. So I was impatient to try it out that same weekend and hurriedly mounted onto the bug using an old funnel which I had laying around, but it worked out better than expected, although it did cause a lot of vibration as you will see. I have since modded it to hopefully prevent this for next time. In the video I compare it with the Gopro GPS gauge. The speedo is powered by a small…

Needed a backrest on my Peter lynn bitsa buggy, but I don’t have easy (Cheap) access to an engineering workshop anymore, so I came up with an easy diy design. parts needed: 1m of 32mm stainless tubing. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/114008760179 2x 32mm tube jointing connector thingys (if someone knows what these are called that would be great) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123935778624 I do have a cheap pipe bender, so I gave it bit of a bend. Sorry @Chook, I should of done your trick of filling with water and freezing so it doesn’t kink, but it a slight bend that nobody will see ? then Just cut it to length and bolted it on. …

Hey everyone...its been a while since I've been on. Been a while since I had a kite in the air. But I did get out last week as we had warm temps and great south winds. Had a good day with my bud Brandon at Atlantic Beach, New York. Project_01-11_4K.mp4

Had a short session yesterday. The forecast looked promising, 60kph with 82kph gusts, perhaps enough wind to reach my PB, who knows. Got rolling at 10am. Tide in by 11:15am, so had to be quick. The beach was in perfect condition and I had it all to myself but the wind started to drop during the hour, and of course picks up again as the tide covers the beach. Still, I topped out at 100kph but I'm paying the price. My arm is killing me. It felt broken yesterday, like I needed a sling to put it in. Today is better though. Did not bother reaching for the trim when heading up wind and because time was against me I just ignored it. The load on my right arm was too…

did a google search for carbonbuggy (looking for the hobbs carbon kite buggy site), but the first result to come up was actually CarbonBuggy.com and thought that some here may be interested. Its a guy in the Netherlands who is designing and building just the carbon fibre axles for kite buggies. He is actually the supplier of the carbon axles used by MG-kites, Xxtreme and GT-race on their buggies. There is also the option to get a custom made axle. With the option to changing the length, wall thickness, and finish. It looks like the only mount option though is a clamp type mount, but it wouldnt be difficult to make a mount so the axle could be used on other bug…

Other than the Peter Lynn aluminium lightweight buggy rims, what other options have people found? I stumbled on these on BuggyKiteShop ( http://www.buggykiteshop.com/index.php/wheel-spares/rim/buggy-aluminum-rim-2-5-x8-3spokes.html ).
