Well, the tides are looking fantastic for the September long weekend that is the AFL finals. Low tide at Waratah Bay: Friday 27th of Sept: 12:28pm Saturday 28th: 1:20pm Sunday 29th: 2:19pm If anyone has school age children, this is the middle weekend of the Victorian September school holidays . With the abysmal lack of quality winds over the last few years for any planned event, I am not holding my breath. We should know about a week out if the conditions are going to be any good or not. I will just do a day trip if the conditions are good, but, if it's looking stellar, I might stay down there for a night and get two days in. …

Extreme Kites Labour Day Explorers' Weekend Friday March 8th - Monday March 11th Land kiters for two decades have been kiting Waratah Bay, kicking off from the Sandy Point foreshore. This time we're looking at exploring the East side of Shallow Inlet, launching from the Boat Ramp and traversing the east side in to Wilsons Promontory. Having never done this before, anyone joining us is advised to be equipped for all terrain with either Big Foots or MidiXL's. Alternatively having a ski-rope in case you need to pull through some soft patches if on Barrows or Midis may also be a workable option. Route Planned Tides Late afternoon/evening tides, with…

As the title says. I’m heading to Mui Nę tomorrow from Phuket and have been trying to find some honest reviews from more experienced Kiters. A lot of the reviews are from people learning at kite schools or Trip Adviser, not many forum posts coming up in my searches. It look very windy, so I’m hoping it a good place to kite I may hold up there for a few weeks.

Well the silly season is almost upon us. So as I have been trying for the last 12 months to get a buggy run in, now seems to be the best chance. With most people's work finishing up before Christmas, we just need to time dates with suitable tide times. Waratah Bay Low tide times: Monday 18th Dec. 10.36am Tuesday 19th, 11.23am Wednesday 20th, 12.10pm Thursday 21st, 1.00pm Friday 22nd, 1.53pm Saturday 23rd, 2.49pm Sunday 24th, 3.48pm Christmas day. Boxing day. Wednesday 27th, 6.37pm Thursday 28th, 7am + 7pm Friday 29th, 8am + 8pm Saturday 30th, 9am + 9pm Sunday 31st, 9.51am Mon…

All right buggy nuts. The wind god's seem to be in line with the tide god's. Sunday is looking like a cross on-shore, very light in the morning, but a nice solid 10+ knots by 5pm. Low tide is at 1pm. I need a buggy, and I can take my 10 year old kite monster, AKA, Alex, with me. He has a mountain board which he has never used with a kite before, and I am sure I could get him to fit my little PL buggy, for a first time solo run. Anyone interested???? Blokarts welcome too.

Any interested takers? With the weather getting worse (Winter is coming), it means some nice South Westers, or Southerlies could be around. So with that in mind, low tides at 10:11am (Sat), 11:02am (Sun), 11:55am (Mon), and three days off, anyone?? Got a Buggy here that had it's last run pre Covid, and a Dirtsurfer to try on the beach.

So looking at the wind and tide for this weekend it seems Sunday morning might work. 10:30AM low tide (0.5) and SW predicted. But who knows with VIC weather at the moment - that all could change and blow through earlier or later or just not at all. I'll probably make the call on Saturday night and see if the prediction is still holding. Anyone else interested??...??

This is primarily a post to let a new buggier and his family know about the annual get together. For me, the key date is Australia Day on the 26th of January, and I plan around that Date. In 2023 it falls on a Thursday. The Adelaide Kite Flyers put on a fantastic display of large kites and it is always worth viewing. There is a congregation of kiters, buggiers, blow-carters, kite-boarder, kite surfers and families at the Kingston Caravan Park in the days/weeks leading up to the 26th, and some stay on afterwards as well. As a buggier, I look forward to getting out on the (hopefully) dry lake bed and letting rip on the flat surface. It all depends on the win…

Hey all, I am not sure how many active kiters are In Canberra any more, So I wanted to post this up to see who would be interested in catching up for a casual fly some time? It would be nice to catch up regularly with a fellow flyier even if it's just for a static fly.

My boss at work is giving me a hard time about accumulating too much annual leave. So in an effort to reduce the balance by even a couple of days, I am wondering if there will be a meeting this year over the Melbourne Cup Weekend. With the Cup being run on the 1st of November, I am assuming the weekend before plus the Monday 31st of October would be the dates for anything to happen What does everyone else think? BobM

I recently moved to toowoomba from the coast. Have been kitting for several years on the water but am now looking at options in the local area with a mountainboard Got a mountain board and several kites, anyone know of some good spots to go for a run on the mountainboard with a kite? Have tried local ovals but currently they are all littered with goal posts for other sport. Done a bit of downhill but still looking for a good open space for a kite.

After a fabulous time over in SA, we've both got the feel again to be back in the buggy and blofly. With the COVID situation settling here in Victoria, what about re-booting a speed week? Thoughts?

The 2020 Moose meet was a great success this year with good winds and a nice group of the usual suspects. And here are a few pics for you to enjoy.
