Over dinner last night, we were discussing November's Long Weekend (Cup Weekend) and wondered with the meet at the end of Sept, whether or not Speed Week would go ahead. @igeightyand I are very much keen as were a couple more, to get away again. Friday 10th November Saturday 11th November If your interested, comment on this post. Please note that if this event does happen, accommodation/camping will need to be organised by yourself.

Hi All, I'm new to posting on the site though I admit I have been 'stalking' ExtremeKites for some time. I am a self-confessed addict when it comes to various kite sports, and have been for close to 15 years (snow kiting, kite buggying, landboarding, kitesurfing, kite skating, and more recently foilboarding - and some KAP and KAV). Thanks to all members for years of fascinating posts I wanted to let everyone know about a new kiting spot I've found in metro Melbourne. I figure new spots rarely emerge in the residential area so it's worth a post. The location is Spring road Dingley - easiest entry point I have found is just near the intersection with Seaton…

I'm thinking of heading down to Baknarring beach today for a lunch time landboard. At present it looks pretty windy but I'm hoping it will ease a little (keen for some sand time. . . never satisfied). Definitely looks like a gloves day! If anyone's interested please get in contact.

"Beautiful one day, perfect the next" Family Beach Day drew quite a few thousand people to Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas last Saturday. Beautiful on shore winds all day, wide firm sandy beach, temperatures in the high 20s. Life's tough! The most popular exhibit? Linda's crustaceans!

Hi All, Just some quick musings. I don't know how many have had a look at the tides for Speed week, but they don't look very good. High tide for each day is Sat. @ 12:10pm, Sun. @ 1:07pm, Mon. @ 2:01pm, and Tues. @ 2:51pm Another option which we all might want to consider, is the Grand final long weekend on the 29-30th of Sept, and the 1st of Oct. The tides for this weekend look great with the Low tides on Fri. @ 11:46 am, Sat. @ 12:28pm, and Sun. (day light savings adjusted) @ 2:16pm. So what are peoples thoughts? I was considering missing Speed week, and hitting Sandy Point for the footy long weekend instead. …

Was just watching some show on the ABC in the Whitsundays and I comment on how blue the water is, Doug says 'That's where Yeppoon is' so we're definitely going to make it next year. So I guess this comment can start the feed for 'Whoop Whoop Yeppoon 2017'

Sorry doubt I'll make it. Thinking of going to the Rosebud kite festival. But tides are good for a Pre-Labour Day, or Post-Labour Day run.
