If there's no wind, you can get squashed like a bug by a giant mad max toilet plunger. Or surf.

So for all those science nerds out there that also skate board and or surf board, and others that just like cool stuff, here is an interesting video on the science of pumping on a skate board. How to generate net forward motion on a flat horizontal (no slope) with a skate board, no motor, no pushing off with your foot, just by shifting your weight and travelling in a S shape— this is commonly called pumping on a skate board. I have looked at a lot of instructional videos about pumping and never had any real sucess with them. My son Zac is a natural and can do it well. Then I found by chance the video below explaining the science behind it — it is so simple. …

Seeing as we seem to have lost the last thread that was started on Multi-rotors, I thought I would start a new thread for those of us that are inclined to build and fly them. Here are the 2 I have been playing with since I got home from hospital, had a few sleepless nights and a pile of parts that had arrived while I was away so I have been doing a bit of building. Blue Sky RC Mini Quad Had this kit for a while, initially I built it with the KK v3.0 board, but i was having a few issues with a hardware conflict. So it sat for a while and has now been upgraded to the KK2 board which is much easier to configure and tune. Still trying to work the bugs …

i know it was a long time ago:o but does anyone remember, SEGS, the little metal things that were designed to protect the soles of shoes? they might have been called something else, darn sarth. there was a big fad of em in our school and almost the every pupil used to wear em. dinner times in the play ground ended up sounding like it was a beginner's tap dancing class. :D was it just my school or was it a more nationwide thing? if not, what fads did your school have?

June 2018 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia was recorded as the coldest month since 2006 says the Bureau of Meteorology. This morning was the coldest day since exactly this time last year, which was even colder! Up in the Northern Hemisphere, my parents report that its 33 degrees where they are in the UK and that even the "sun worshippers" are struggling. Its a different heat in Europe, very humid, where as Australia is a dry heat. Whats the temperature where you are? * Temperature Image Credit - @Mez ** Snowkite Image Credit - Big Dubya Where @igeighty is working today, cars are covered in ice....

Blowing again here in Esperance with the approach of a cold front. Farmers are REALLY desperate for rain, as a lot have gone ahead and dry seeded crops, so fingers crossed. Pink Lake is in prime condition and really handy being only 2kms from the Chook house. (Black dot in small circle below Pink Lake Rd) Greg and I headed out for a short sharp 1 hr run this morning and the wind turned out to be really gusty from the north and very unsettled, blowing dust everywhere. I managed to tick over 6,000kms (6,016kms) covered by wind power (kite buggy and land yacht) so far this calendar year. So having a ball. Have to wait and see if rain stops play fo…

A highly recommend watch. Kiter down incapacitated for an hour, plenty of other kiters near by and none of them gave assistance — not my proble attiude perhaps? This is a worrying trend that needs to be reversed. A recue boat in the end saved the day. A right mind set of not to panic, saved Gunnar in the end.

Check thos out, you wonder where they got their pilot’s license from if one at all One would have thought seeing the first couple of pilots having serious trouble the rest would have learnt some thing from that.

My wife has received a pile of MAN jokes, very much like blonde jokes. So I was sitting there listening to here read them out, when she came to this one Well guy's I've got a good sense of humour, but this cracked me up! WHY DO MEN SNORE WHEN THEY LIE ON THEIR BACKS? because their balls fall over their butt-hole and they vapour lock (You're laughing, aren't you?!?!):rofl:
