Thought I would start up a thread for the silent league of flight for the RC gliders. Any way, Zac and I had a great time over the weekend at Truganina Park. Had great winds for the new Wicked Wing, could just about slope soar as long as one liked, battery power was never a problem, only pilot skill (me, though Zac is a lot better) and wind are now the determining factors. Here's a short video of the Sunday session.

Some of you may have seen the final last night, and pondered about the property market on these "high end" properties. Huegh's bought the winning property #5 from Josh and Elise and they've pocketed and won over $500k overall. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the other properties, but everyone walked away with some coin - decent amount of coin never the less. What was, yet the same situation in all of these shows, is that the bidders are predominantly buyer's agents. No one else - except for one bloke at the back, raised their paddles to place a bid. The fact that buyers - real fair-dinkum buyers are there to buy the properties, are using buyers agents is …

New trailer for The Last Jedi released, with a twist at the end! However I highly doubt it's the outcome it would indicate, otherwise they just exposed too much of the movie and killed it Movie hits cinemas December 15th 2017

Following sewing machine ideas in the fighter kites thread, I thought I would mention my purchases. In 2016, I purchased Siruba light industrial machine through Gumtree. It ran way too fast, so I experimented with different pulley sizes and altered power arm lengths. Still too fast. Through Sewingmachinesaustralia.com.au, I bought a servo motor, which is absolutely magic. Small and light, easy to fit and totally silent. ie once turned on, a red light glows and that's it. As you press the pedal, you have total control over speed and the only sound is the needle mechanism clicking away. This is linked to a needle synchroniser, so that any time you lift away from the pedal,…

Spent a couple of days wandering around Wilsons Promontory when the wind wasn't predicted to be much chop for Sandy point. Geez, this place is bigger than I remember and it's amazing how one minute you can be in a shady gully surrounded by tree ferns and not far away are spectacular beaches or granite mountain tops. I could have easily spent one to two weeks and still only covered a small portion of the Prom. @Chook If you and Anne get the chance to visit on your Vic trip, do it - lots of different bird species calling in the gullies. The main Tidal River campground is getting very busy/tourist-y and you probably wouldn't get a spot over the Jan holidays - but the Yan…
