Another windy day here this side of Melbourne, but no time to kite. These past three weeks we've had at least one day in the week where the wind has been fairly strong. Last week the gusts bought down several trees at school, yet at the shelter, about 1km away, there was no wind as its protected by the mountain. Come the weekend, it will all be gone again.

The US presidential race is in full swing, it makes out election campaigns in Australia look like a back yard get together in comparison.

Went out on the Melbourne Star yesterday with a friend. We timed it perfectly well, with the setting sun. It wasn't too busy when we lined up, but by the time we got off, the line was pretty long. It was a great experience and would go on it again, perhaps during the day and again at night to see all the city lights. Had dinner at the Groove Train just opposite and the meals were brought out pipping hot! Lovely. Tried a Spiced Bacardi Rum and Ginger Beer (called a Bacardi Feugo) which was like Christmas in a glass, with lime and ice. So anyone thinking of a trip to Melbourne and an afternoon out, I can highly recommend the above. And if it rains on your trip o…

So what is on your wish list from Santa this year and what are your chances of getting it? Mr A wants a tractor set (yes I know it's not kite related) with a high chance of getting it. He doesn't seem to want anything kite related but is very interested in Daddy's kite gloves however his hands are too small so not likely to come from Santa.

Just been giving this a try lately and pretty impressed with the results. Bout 80% accurate with the wind out to 7 days. https://www.fishranger.com.au/forecast/for/week/at/location/Esperance Meteye has been my go-to before this and I still cross reference and try others. http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/meteye/?ref=ftr Willy weather https://wind.willyweather.com.au/wa/goldfields/esperance.html is not as good as Fishranger I've found.
