Sadly it's been my last day at Kingston as I have to head off home tomorrow. What a great meet it's been this first week. Thank you @Mez for organizing everything. Thanks to @Chook for  loaning me his 18m Chrono 2 today for the run to the Granites in almost no wind at ground level but maybe 5 knots within kite line range. Max speed 47kph in these conditions is testament to a great kite! Thanks to everybody else for your friendship and some wonderful Buggying experiences. Enjoy your second week. All the best and I look forward to seeing you all next time.

Happy memories of my last night on the foreshore. Doesn't get much better than this!

I managed another 205.66 kms today with the 15mtr Chrono2 in fairly light winds early on, then tending down the beach later in the day.

It took me 5 3/4 hours with 4 runs back to the drain from the Granites (with a lot of people on the beach to slow down past while they were fishing/swimming.)

Fantastic company in Kingston and really enjoyed the pub meal last night (Thanks John H for rounding us all up)

Having a ball. Cheers for making every day enjoyable everyone.

Lets do more of this stuff tomorrow.  Bring it on!!!!!

Thanks Trevor we head off after Australia day.

Spent the morning risking my life wrestling gators to keep the caravan park patrons safe.

Hit the beach with the gang again today but it was cut up so badly with one tide change it was unbelievable.

Only did 18.6kms and the strong wind was practically straight down the beach. That rough only edged up to 67.9kmh and my neck and kidneys hurt so packed away like the rest of the group.

We all came back to the foreshore in front of the park to fly display kites and discuss tactics .

Beach is almost back as smooth as it could be, just a few continuous corrugations and bigger whoops in places when the tide comes in.

Not a lot of beach up at the Narrows (15km peg)  when the water comes in.

Had a ball today chasing @roblukin and running back and forth to 5 kms past the Granites from the Blackwood drain. Fastest time to the rocks was 14minutes 35seconds. Wind was about 35 degrees across the beach at about 20 knots in the end.

The "Champagne Crew" that stayed back put up lots of display kites on the foreshore in front of the park and they could be seen from the 15km peg riding high above the pine trees. Looked fantastic even from where we were.

Even though the beach was a bit rough I had a great day on my 7m R1, with a top of 89.2 kmh. I'll flick my footage through to Dougie to edit.

Guess we will just have to do it all over again tomorrow. Life is so tough sometimes.............

Just helped Joel sort out his new to him 7m R1 and bar, so there's no more excuses big fella.

Awesome day today, dropped in to the Sandy Grove farm cafe.  Then headed down to the beach at around lunchtime, put out the 10M "Heineken" R1 and chased a @Chook up and down the beach for the afternoon   Overall one of the best day's kiting I've had in the last 12 months, and that 10M R1 was just an absolute gem of a kite to fly for the day.  Did 3 trips to the granites, top speed just over 74km/h and a few airborne moments over some rises in the beach.  If it wasn't for the tide coming in I reckon I would of gone another 3 hours without getting out of the buggy as it was just that comfortable.  @Mez was out with the camera putting herself on the line for the perfect shot  

@roblukin and @igeighty dropped off a nice surprise for lunch tomorrow  ty fellas! 

Looking forward to seeing the large kites on the beach tomorrow morning, Olivia loved watching them yesterday with Mel. We'll spend some time down there then head off to the beach again for more bugging

I was first out on the beach yesterday afternoon in the Blokart. I put up my 5.5 “traffic cone” sail and screamed it down wind, finding it hard to stop, so came in and swapped it for the 4m.

winds blowing that way..

We arrived home safely just before lunchtime today after covering 5,443km for round trip in the Patrol.

Man it was the most heat I have ever experienced on the road heading home, with the outside air temp in the Patrol showing a top of 52.4 degrees C, as we passed by Lochiel, North of Adelaide and passing Lake Bumbunga with  really strong NE winds.

You couldn't hold your hand on the inside of the windscreen. The front mudguard on my buggy folded over with the heat and wind pressure and we were dodging the sticky patches of tar on the road driving mostly along the fog line to keep the wheels clear of the soft tar. We got to Wudinna and it was still 41 degrees when we had tea at the pub and stayed the night.

Up early next morning and under way again and it was still 37 degrees and the sun didn't rise for another hour of travel.

A bizarre day as we headed west, it got hotter with 42.4 at the Fowlers bay turn off.

Refueled at Nullabor, still stinking hot and Diesel costing $189.9 per litre. The further we travelled west we entered an enormous thunderstorm and the temps slowly dropped as the drizzle increased and we spent the rest of the day with the wipers on (which was great as it flushed all the salt from Kingston and tar off the vehicle).

We ran out of puff 430kms into WA at Caiguna and had tea at the roadhouse and a motel room for the night. Went to bed cooked.

Up at 5.00am and back on the road and MUCH cooler too. Lots of road kill and huge wedge-tail eagles feasting on the fresh carcases.

The Nullabor is the lushest I have ever seen it in all the years I have been crossing it. This was my 53 crossing being from South Aust originally. (Victor Harbour)

Thanks everyone for such a great time and the Caravan park #6 cabin has been booked from the 13th to the 27th Jan for 2019. So you will have to put up with us once again.

Yes, figured it was work, thought perhaps there was something relevant regarding the writing on the road, guess I was reading too much into it.

G'day Norm, I was standing at work, waiting for the asphalt truck to show up after setting up the worksite. Looking at the tyre marks on the pram crossing thinking about all the tyre marks that we left on the beach at Kingston and Beachport. I became a bit melancholy pining for another run on the beach.

Work to live, live to work. the playtime is just an added bonus.

I appreciate the fellowship of the kite flyers and their families.

Oh well double time tomorrow, and more asphalt.... At least the wind is the wrong direction at sandy point
