Looks like a tough life steve, but i guess someone has to do it.
  3. There is actually no competition for this, the worst movie...of all time.. is "The Room" by Tommy Wiseau. In an interesting twist however it is also the best cinema experience of all time. To show how bad the movie is here is a clip of Tommy doing what Tommy does best, acting very badly. Tommy put something like 6 million dollars of his own money into this movie because he thought he was making a master piece. He also thought he was a good actor, apparently he isn't a very good judge of...well....anything. The room has become a cult comedy classic (not what tommy was aiming for) and still shows in cinemas world wide (including cinema Nova in melbourne). Seeing the room in a cinema is an awesome experience, because the whole idea is that you go there...have a few drinks and basically yell at tommy and make smart arse remarks at the screen for the whole movie. Its essentially seeing a shit movie with a couple of hundred people that are all there for the same reason. Great fun. The below quote sums it up nicely ”What makes viewing The Room attractive is the chance for audiences to gleefully ignore cinema etiquette while attending the late-night screenings. Patrons are encouraged to make witty interjections, heckle, holler and hurl projectiles (plastic spoons) at the screen. It’s the good-natured, interactive viewing experience that ensures, quite miraculously, that this deliriously incompetent piece of film-making winds up providing five-star entertainment.”
  4. Some nasty stuff in there. I make a point of not jumping on land....its just asking to get owned. As for launching on rocks...

The bookies are certainly backing her.
  7. Sounds good, looking forward to seeing some footage as i am in the market for something like this at the moment.
  8. Put a belt on ffs.
  9. Eeek, thats very nasty, hope it heals up well. Luffing sucks, its something i have to deal with a lot inland...pretty much inevitable with the garbage wind out here. I have more or less got into the habit of going straight for my quick release when i get into a nasty looking luff, had too many close calls to bother riding them out.
  10. With your attitude im guessing that your chance of pain is quite high, thus you should have an exceptional amount of fun. Good luck with that.

  12. Get a job.
  13. I'm going on crazy 4 dimensional roller coasters in japan next month. Will i be covered for the inevitable whiplash that occurs on this ride?
  14. Good watch.
  15. I've been down to the dog park at Hastings a couple of times for a buggy. Its not a bad place at all, plenty of room. I've only ever had one dog chasing me, crazy jack russell.

    Why?

So here is my blatantly obvious thread to get me into the competition, but its a question i have had in my head for quite a while....good time to ask it i guess. The question is, why do you kite? What is it that makes you want to get out there again and again. For me kiting is about clearing my mind. I find that no matter what is going on in my life, good or bad, whenever i put that kite in the air my mind goes clear and i feel good. There is no other activity that lets me forget everything else and just focus on it like kiting does. For me kiting is without a doubt my "happy place" and its a place i like to go to at every opportunity. Cruising along a beach or dry lake while the sun sets on a balmy summers night and just being happy to be alive, that's why i go out every chance i can. ...........well that and to look fully awesome in front of the babes.
  17. I am getting out on the water next summer for sure, that video got me super pumped. Good stuff.
  18. I really, really wish i hadn't have booked tickets to japan right now. That's a sweet deal.
  19. Came across this today and totally enjoyed it. Number 2 looks amazing, i imagine it would be the closest thing to flying...very cool. Number 1 is just....wow. Totally awesome, im amazed i had never heard of that one.
  20. Haha, the taser one was great. Saw where it was going the whole time, but still had tears in my eyes. Great story telling.
  21. I HIGHLY recommend the broozas for inland flying, they eat it up. I've fallen deeply in love with mine.
  22. Looks like you all had an awesome weekend, awesome pictures sluggo. Have to watch the videos when i get home. And pete, 360km.......i'm so jealous. I am going to have to head up that way for a holiday i think.
  23. Fake as, but certainly a good fake. Looks very CGIish at the "take off" but other than that pretty nice.
  24. Im thinking of heading to sandy point or lake eyre depending on what the weather is doing over easter. If there is a decent breeze at either i will be ripping it up.
  25. Then when it becomes a complete obsession you can be like this guy that came up from Hamilton for our fun fly. This plane was an absolute beast, hand build from scratch with an awesome radial engine fitted. The detail and overall presentation of this thing was just awesome. The amount it cost and the time it took to build was also pretty awesome.
