Good morning everyone. This is my Guerilla 15m, I have it for a long time and I still have fun with it. I managed to do a kite surf once with him, but he is a kite that despite having a good traction, it is very slow, with a lot of drag and very open curves, which is difficult for me to sail with my weight 100kg and winds from 10 to 12 knots. I would like to know if it is possible to use it for kiteskating or if it is too big. Where I live, the winds are very gusty, so in a moment I have a dragging force and in seconds it ends up disappearing. What is the ideal wind for me to start kiteskating with this kite? The photo was a joke I played with him on my beach vacatio…

Does anybody have any experience using Nordic-Scout skates for kite skating? http://www.nordic-scout.de I just ordered a set of these from Germany so they aren't in my possession yet. I've got a nice pair of Seba skate boots that I've been attaching to various frames trying to optimize this sort of setup so I just ordered the frames and wheels, not the fancy brake mechanism or their various boot solutions (which are pretty varied). These Nordic-Scouts look to be a nice step up to something I'm already using made by Powerslide. The Powerslide wheel sets are 150mm x 30mm. These work fine on hard surfaces like the Ivanpah playa (other than the 40wt sandpaper effect…

I had lost trust in my Coyote rims after a couple cracked. Screwyfits hooked me up with his cousin Sean and he made me these sweet aluminum rims! The only thing cracking now is the cracking good job He did! Tell me you like them and help me win that sweet LongStar 2 to use with them!

Well my friends, I've got to say I'm very glad to be writing this, because it means I'm writing anything. I was out kite skating yesterday on some grass fields under my 9m Frenzy and having a grand old time. Winds were transitioning from moderate to strong as the afternoon progressed. While I was setting up I had spied a good sized dirt devil on a nearby baseball diamond so there were definitely some rogue gusts in the area. As per usual I was covered head to toe with body armor including a decent ski helmet though not the full motorcycle helmet I sometimes wear but avoided yesterday because of the heat. What I'm writing next is based on witness accounts, not my ow…

It finally all came together for me yesterday on my quest to get a land based off season Snowkiting fix. As folks know that have been following my skate equipment progression I've been searching for a while for a good setup for navigating lush grass fields and hard playa surfaces alike. I've settled on a Nordic Scouts wheel/frame setup featuring 200x50mm inflatable knobby tires in a wheels of doom frame setup. As yesterday's kiting session proved to me, these were a great way to go. Decent rolling once under kite power, great grip for edging, and just flat out look right when I see them on my feet. These wheels of doom skates coupled with all the "plastic courage" I cou…

As I've been writing about I've started to spread my wings by putting various skates on my feet as I motor around. Right now I've got some custom Seba boots that will fit my big flippers (EU48) and a couple of different frame and wheel set ups. First are some Powerslide Metropolis SUVs with 125mm diameter wheels and second are Powerslide XC Trails with 150mm wheels. I like the size of the 150mm wheels but the wheel setup of the SUVs. With all three wheels set up underneath the boot on the SUVs it is easy to "carve" a turn at the end of your run. With the Trails the two larger wheels are at each end of the frame. Nice for straightaways but you need to step your corners w…

W've had a spell of "Indian Summer" here in the mountain west of the US over the past couple of weeks. I'm not sure if that translates but that means unseasonably warm days mid-winter. As such we've had some snow melt and our local Parks and Recreation department have plowed clear the town's artificial surface athletic fields. With temps around 5-7 degrees C above freezing and some brisk 15-20 knot winds I snuck out for my inaugural kite skating session. I learned a couple of things. First, Powerslide Metropolis SUV wheels work as advertised and were fun on my feet for this activity. Second, I had a 4m FB kite in the air (Born-Kite NS3) and I would have been more c…

I hadn't seen these until @Mfwetu put a pic up in another thread. While it doesn't seem they had kiting in mind when they made them, it looks like they may be suited to the task. Grasski USA site... http://www.grasskiusa.com/products.html And in action with kites....

So I finally got to go out out and have a bash on these puppies today - they've been in progress for quite a while now. All I can say is Such a great feeling, will be a bit of a learning curve - but I can't wait. Was just on the 3.4 Zebra today and it was enough to get rolling at my local flying spot and get used to the sensation. Fun, fun, fun despite looking fairly unco Spartan, if you lurking, might have to catch up with you soon for some pointers. Turning was probably the hardest.

Hello, I am a Crazy Canuck From Vancouver Been kiting since 2004 . I try to ride everything every chance I get but love the crossover from Skis to Coyote Rollerblades the most. I am thrilled to see another forum discussing this style of riding. Here is a link to a poor old video of me " learning to fly " .

Here's Dan Dooooom roosting at pace on his monster doom wheels. Dan took one look at my monster board last year and had to have some of those wheels. So he contracted Gannet to fabricate possibly the worlds first monster doom wheels. Dan hauls pretty damn fast on the monster doomers hits speeds close to 50kph. He's also be seen float through the air and some time getting dragged through drift wood! heheh.
