Just finished this Glider from a design by Doug Stout. It's 24" in Icarex and framed in Carbon Rod at 1 and 1.3 mm. Fun little kite for no wind days or in the lounge room after a few beers, put away any Ming vases. Not a complicated build and a nice result. Mike

I need to fly some new kites, at the moment I have about 30 duel line framed kites but the newest is an outer space(15ish years old). So(s) need to get my hand on some of the newer kites to get a feel for whats out there now. still love the kites I've got and can fly from indoor to fords wind tunnel. This need for stunt/sport kites is to me far more urgent than new power kites(nothing against R1s NASA25s and Phantoms we don't number them any more) which in my opinion are just a means to get speed(you wouldn't stand in a field for hours flying one without your buggy, board or skates) just my thourt on this saturday EDIT (you wouldn't stand in a field for hours flying…

Had a few minutes of weather break in light winds on Friday, enough time for a quick outing but not enough time for camera so before I start, keep in mind this is with light and variable winds.. First Impressions Nice looking Kite that not only flies like a Rev, but is a Rev.. The Springs do indeed change the wing shape and dead launch from face down is almost as easy as a standard reverse launch. The springs did however also change some of the responsiveness in the very light wind conditions.. When accelerating a dive in multiple steps to do a dive stop, you have the load the wing (with a heavier hand) at every step and plan again for loading the wing with the div…

The Revolution Reflex is a new addition to the range for 2016. It aims to be more stable through a larger sail and wingspan, offering sharper response with snap turns and a lower wing loading. Reduced flutter making it more efficient during flight and faster acceleration through a stiffer structure, reducing the number of steps required to move the kite back overhead. Further improvements include more stability in reverse flight with more precise control. Sneak peak of the graphics from the Reflex Episode 1 video below... Based in Lenoir, North Carolina, you'll find Ken McNeill Fabrications making some stunning looking kites (or high performance aerial art as Ken refers to them) - no argument from me there. Ken's been designing and building his kites for 25 years out of the finest materials he can get his hands on. I hadn't heard of Ken until Doug put a picture of one of his kites in the gallery. The Cody heritage immediately caught my eye although a look through Ken's site reveals some quite different designs and even some 2 line stunters. Check out Ken's site here: http://www.kmacfab.com/ My favorite.....

Robert Brasington is a kite maker based in Tasmania, not far from St Helens. To say he's a kite maker is somewhat of an understatement. What he makes are real works of art - some based on traditional designs, others I've never seen the like. If you're lucky enough to own one of these kites, then you have something really special. Have a look through Robert's site here: Robert Brasington Kites There are some truly amazing creations. Robert is invited to kite festivals around the world and is also invited to teach and conduct workshops. There's a list of upcoming kite festivals where Robert will be displaying his kites on the site.

Check these out for awesomeness!! Some of the wickedest looking Cody Box kite variants I've ever seen. I think these are the work of German kite maker Lutz Treczoks (and perhaps his team under the guise of 8er Kites - the Cody Line). They have a Facebook page that hasn't seen any use for a couple of years and they direct people to HQ Power kites USA, but sadly these are not listed. If you see these for sale anywhere or any other info on them, please let me know. Lutz Treczoks...

Kiting legend Peter Powell inventor of the steerable two line stunt kite has died. The popularity of all types of multiple-line kite flying today can be attributed directly to Powell's development of a modern dual-line kite. He once man-lifted a 70yr old granny named Mary Hardy 30ft into the air using 7 of his kites, he flew his kites over the Hudson River in New York for the national TV program 'Today' and had disastrous dealings with a Tokyo business man. I learnt of his passing while listening to an interview with his sons Paul and Mark on Radio 4 last Sunday. For anyone who might be interested here is that audio and if you're on Facebook an excelle…

Peter Lynn has been hard at work developing single skin, single line kites. He has a couple now which he has licensed out for other people to produce. This one looks very nice - the Boomer, a 2.5sq.m 7 cell made and sold by John and Irene Tan in Singapore, fionareen@yahoo.com.sg It evidently has 3x the pull of an equivalent ram air foil... could be a good line laundry anchor. According to Peter, they fly at a higher angle than a similar ram air foil and the Boomer's wind range is 8 km/hr to 40 km/hr.

Hi, I am looking to buy a few Stunt Kites. Could i get some opinions on current generation stunt kites please. What are the kites that stand out in 2015. I used to fly MEFM kites, but have had no luck contacting warren macintosh to see if he is still making these, I know kites are very subjective as to what people like from them, but if anyone ever flew an MEFM, the flight characteristics of those what i am after. Straight line, like on rails yet twitchy and stalls well. if anyone has kites they would recommend or possibly sell, bring to speed week, ill bring cash. Jason has the 'SOUL' on his site, looks nice, icarex, what doe s this fly like ? thanks, i know its…

I was given this kite in disrepair and brought it back to flying shape. Had to splint a spar and sew the spar pockets back together that had been "repaired" with electrical and duct tape. I'd be interested if anyone could provide insight into the manufacturer and model/name of this kite..

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b6vVtgZnNkY Found this while looking for a way to tie off my new 3m delta to a ground anchor. It's often referred to as a "Spanish Knot". It works as easy as it looks.

Here's a stunning delta from HQ with a really, really long tail. It's part of the Rainer Hoffmann collection which has some eye catching designs. From the video, it looks like an extremely stable flier although I guess with a tail that long, it should be! Jumbo Tail Delta Reviews n.a.
