Hi All Thought maybe someone on the forum could help me with a small problem I'm having. I've been taking my nephews out kite flying with me ( they are 7 and 13 ) and now they are hooked I thought I might fill in the down time when the wind has disappeared or it's raining by making a couple of kite bags for them but I can't seem to find a source for the materials. Some kind of heavy weight nylon or cordura, mesh, nylon thread etc. Does anyone have any idea where I can get the materials from ? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Debbie

I hope you guys don't think I'm a woos or anything but I've found using two winders, one for the left and one for the right works for me I've only ran my lines out twice, had two flys and had trouble Maybe in the future (with more experience ) I'll use one winder for all four lines but for now I'm not to proud to use two

Gday flyers. After re-lighting the spark from my childhood. I decided to buy a kite from a hobby shop in perth. Nothing fancy just a $30 dual line. After about 20 mins of trying to keep it airborne i got a good hang of it. Now i'm hooked but my budget kite has developed a small tear after 2 days of flying. Now i want to get something more high end. Looking at kp wasn't sure to get a low end advanced kite such as the e2 or a high end sport kite like the hypno?

I know that this topic has probably been posted before but I'm quite confused When I got my Rev 1.5 SLE the top lines are the same length as are the bottom but the top ones are longer than the bottom,is this right . I have no adjustment on my leaders,JB(John Berrasi) reconds as long as top and bottom lines are the same,is this OK ?

Rev Handles

OK another question for the Rev Flyers out there what's the best length handles for flying Rev's in your opinion? After watching a few videos it seems most flyers seem to go in for longer than standard handles. Also are there any good modifications you can do to the standard handles to improve them? I must admit I'm not overly fussed on the way they attach the leaders with the triangular shaped rings on the ends of the handles is there a better way of attaching them?

Hi all from CJ. First poster here so go easy on me as I know nothing about kiting. Would like to have a go at sports / stunt kiting but have no idea what kite would be best to start. Obviously need something that is suitable for learning but don't want to have to upgrade 5 minutes after starting out so I'm after something exciting enough to keep me interested past learning the basics. Also needs to be relatively cheap, rather crash a cheap kite. One shop suggested a Windspeed Ikon Sports Kite, at $50 is around my budget. Iv'e also researched online (Leading Edge and BrisKites) but there is so many beginners kites and I have no idea. I live near the coa…

Bit of a weird one this. Basically this was my first proper stunt kite bought for me by my folks when i was about 13 years old. I had a Powerhouse Adrenaline. Cut a long story short. I had this kite for years, (im now 25) and 2 years ago it was stolen in the back of a car of mine. I know Powerhouse have been out of business for a number of years but is there anyone out there that knows where i might find one or even that they still have an Adrenaline or a Blade that they might wish to sell? Its just to rekindle some old love for what really got me into the sport. I bought myself a Tim Benson Gemini to replace it but as good as it is, nothing is quite as good as t…

Here's some tips for the newbies to help get you flying sports kites. If you want to get serious about sports kites you need set length flying line, that is lines that have been cut to a specific length and need to be totally unwound before you can use them. For learning the minimum length of lines should be 23 Metres (75ft) ideally 30 Metres (100ft). Most line sets will come with loops at either end, the knot that forms the loop is called a overhand knot. The loops can have a protective covering called sleeved or have a separate braided loop called a pig tail. Straps are used to protect your hands from the flying lines, these and the kite are attached…

Hi guys, as part of the "Kites and Kids' programe i've been running up here in the Whitsundays, I've had the idea of starting a syncronised flying team compitition. what information is available? what kites are suitable? i need as much information as i can get please. this is what i've been thinking. we have a few schools, both local and within 100km, who i have approched with this idea, all the schools think its a great idea, and it will be on a school vs. school compitition. how are these events judged? i'm a total novice when it comes to compitition flying, so any advise will be greatly appreachated. thanks in advance Peter

Hi Can anyone inform me of the C clip measurement for a R-Sky Frenezy evolution? After some unexpected landings I noticed that the leading edge connectors positions didn't match, on closer inspection I was missing two C clips and the other two C clips where loose. Now I don't know the right spots to affix the C clips as I didn't record them when the kite was new, lesson learnt and will be recording all measurements from now on. So if anyone can help It would be muchly appreciated. Cheers Mat

Hi all I've recently purchased a R-sky Diablis and have been playing with the bridle to tune the kite for the wind condition and my reflexes but the Diablis has a "Turbo bridle?". The only other experience I've had with bridles are on my Prisim E2 and 3D and both only allow moving the tow point (pigtail) up and down the upper haul. The Diablis has the tow point attached at the in-haul and has a yoke (well I think that's what its called) so I can also move the tow point along the in-haul. The arrangement of the bridle is also different in that on the E2 the main bridle line connects the upper haul to the centre of the kite at the lower spreader and the lower ha…

So it's looking like I'm going to have a good month and that allows me to at least consider a new kite... But then the wise old head goes, Do you need another kite? Don't you have enough? I went and looked in the old kite bags (yep plural) and I find that there are 15 in there (+ the odd cheapy that shan't be counted) So maybe there are 2 questions... 1... How many kites do you have? I'm figuring that EK is far enough away from 'other halves' to be a safe place to 'unload' 2... Is there another kite on the horizon? (for the dreamers and planers) TH

Hi, Does anyone know what modifications this guy did to his 3D? From the video it seems that there is a 'Y' arrangement for the standoffs. I've made two more long standoffs and use the outer and inner holes and dispensed with the outer standoffs. Also I shortened the top spreader by 5mm and the tail has a 10cent piece attached. It now fades well, flic-flacs OK. The shape looks similar to the new 4D pics that are now being posted. Regards Peter

I've got a very old school hart super sail stunter, had it for over 15 years my uncle gave it to me for chrissy. Given me plenty of fun over the years but the lines are worn out and fiber glass rods are popping out the ends, so it's fair to say its time for an upgrade. I'm looking at spending about 150, are their any good stunt kite shops around melbourne south eastern suburbs ? any recommendations for good kite that will bring me another 15 years fun ?
