jhn.holgate Posted September 3, 2015 Report Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) The wind forecast is picking up a little more by the looks. If it's still dry at 1602 hours, I'll probably take advantage of the emptying oval and buggy some more. Maybe till 1642 hrs..... Sunday 6 September Summary Min 3 Max 13 Late showers. Possible rainfall: 2 to 8 mm Chance of any rain: 80% Cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers in the afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming northerly 25 to 35 km/h during the morning then tending northwesterly 25 to 30 km/h during the evening. Edited September 3, 2015 by jhn.holgate Quote
jhn.holgate Posted September 3, 2015 Report Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) By the way, the Dean Kite Festival is here: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.4628025,143.9822716,445m/data=!3m1!1e3 Yep, surrounded by trees! But northerly's seem to work ok and it looks like we'll have plenty of 'em too. Edited September 3, 2015 by jhn.holgate Quote
lizkelly Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Posted September 3, 2015 Yay! Great winds coming from the right direction. Add a couple of extra kms per hour because we are in Dean. Kite eating trees... Quote

mik333 Posted September 4, 2015 Report Posted September 4, 2015 Buggying space is marginal, once the kids start spreading out with their kites. Always take everything!! Nothing worse than realising that the kite you need is still at home. Will be bringing a circoflex kite, which I have never flown.... Just to pip John H. Michael Quote
the_hatman Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 so the GPS tells me it will take 1hr 2min to get to Dean don't believe it only take 35 min to get to Ballarat we'll see. so bags packed buggy in the boot any one taking fighter kites? their good to fly on manger line when peeps are buggying or there's some big single line kites in the air Quote
mik333 Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 Hey John, What time are you getting to Dean tomorrow? GPS says it will take me 12 min. from the Creswick caravan park. Tough drive.... Michael Mez 1 Quote

Tough drive.... Michael Hope to be there approximately 11.14 am. Should give me enough time to setup and grab a coffee and hang some wheelies on the mountain bike. Oh crap, did I just type that out loud? I think I might come, trying to organise lunch with my parents for Father's Day! Great Mark, look forward to seeing you there. Mez 1 Quote
mik333 Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 How many kiters have come all the way from WA to Dean for the festival? Hmmmmm.. Not many! Hope you can make it Mark. Michael Mez 1 Quote
the_hatman Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 have to bring a broom so john can do some stoppys. And hope you can make it too(or 2) mark Quote

mik333 Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 I'm starting to get worried about my $100 mountain bike. I would prefer no broom handle stoppies or wheelies on my fitness investment. A quality bike deserves respect. Thanks to John and the Hatman. Michael Quote
gum-nuts Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 Not really going to make it, wish I could... Quote
lizkelly Posted September 5, 2015 Author Report Posted September 5, 2015 Dean is 15kms from Brown Hill. 10kms from Creswick. I reckon you can use the paddock to the north (no sheep?) for the buggies if the wind does pick up. Pretty still now. But I'm no expert on that. I just want sun and wind. And lots of people.
