Anybody have any experience or views on the FS Pulse?

Never flown a flysurfer pulse, but they are a lower aspect kite designed more for wave riding. I think from memory it's pre triple depower. So it won't have as much depower as the newer flysurfers.

5mtr Flysurfer Speed (Is it a 1.5?? Don't know much about flysurfer but looks good. )

Probably not a 1.5. The 1.5 I'm pretty sure was an upgraded bridle that was retro fitted to the speed 1, so you would know if you had one. Even with the 1.5 upgrade it would still pull like a truck.

Hi Andy666

Great work on the gumtree.

That mountain board for $150 is located about 400m walk from my house.  And I really need a new one as my current one has a crack running through the middle and is held together by metal plates scavenged from computer stands.  And its a Pro 90 no less.  It will be a total step up from my Core 90.

Just waiting to hear back from the seller.  Hopefully it will be mine this weekend.

thanks heaps Bob2

A local here, in Townsville, swears by the Pulse, but has probably never tried a Speed 3/4/or5 either! I've tried his actual FS Pulse 12m and it's really equivalent to my Pansh Aurora 12m in terms of speed through the wind-window, and jumps, which are great IMO, but the Pulse has more stability. That's just a PANSH bridle issue I think.

The Pulse is nothing like a Speed 5 12m, which I've also tried. The Speed 3 standard cloth 12m is about the same as the Pulse as they are very good boost and stable kites.

?? not sure why these shoes would be of any benefit.

Thanks to @plummet's idea way back when, I now use these for everything - landkiting and surfing...

Cheap, replaceable and very comfy. No more gashes underfoot from sharp shells, coral or heaven forbid - Cone Shell strikes!

this is a quote from this topic About FOOTWARE FOR LANDBOARDING

Quote

I swear by Fila Skele-Toes. I found with edging hard the separate toes stay really comfy, not forcing the toes into one pocket. They have a padded heal for jumps unlike the Five finger running shoes, the quick velcro straps hold very securely, and they do well in water with good drainage. Plus they a pretty cheap, got mine for $40. Some on eBay as well.

I've tried various normal shoes, similar to Crocs and trainers, Merrall Eddies, and I can say in total confidence that none come close to comfort than Fila Skele toes. As I explained above, ordinary shoes allow your feet to push forward towards the toes if you are edging hard, forcing you toes into a single pocket. Of course Crocs have a wide toe so that may not be an issue, but on the same token I can't imagine putting my feet into a land board or kite board binding with toes like that , and not slipping around in them especially in water.

I went back to closed toes recently coz my Fila fell apart after a few seasons....god I can't wait to get my new pair of Skele Toes from the US.

These are the Eddies I'm using at the moment, They're not bad.

Those "Eddies". Do they have a replaceable sole? I hope the answer is no, and there is no mesh underneath it either. I bought a similar pair cheap from kMart and they were rubbish. Sand always ended up under the soles and stuck like lumps of rock under the mesh. Obviously, threw away the soles, but the mesh thing was annoying. Took that off as well and still sand stuck in there somehow. I think a shoe like the Crocs or the one you've mentioned would be better simply for the fact they can "drain" the sand away.

@plummet, your thoughts? What sea shoes do you use?
