specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) Hi everyone, I want to introduce myself as the new Flysurfer dealer in Perth, WA. My business is Specialist Kiteboarding, you'll find me on Facebook and on the web under the same. Flysurfer is the only product I distribute at this time, although I can also arrange Levitaz hydrofoils via the partnership recently announced. My aim is to have a small number of demo kites representing the range, and kites are usually shipped within 5-7 days from Germany when ordered. At the moment I have the following kites available for test Speed 4 Lotus 12,15,21 Sonic FR 9,11,15 Unity 8,12 Peak 1 9m Boost 13m LEI Flydoor XL 170cm Radical 4 128 & 138 Razor ( shortly) LF Foil Fish (beginner hydrofoil) I am pretty good with the mixer test and trimming so if I can help existing owners in that capacity, let me know. I've also just come back from a week in Europe testing all the new prototypes with the developers and team riders, so have lots of information about what's in the pipeline for FS in 2016. These days I am usually riding a foil board off Trigg, Pinnaroo and occasionally Quinn's so if you see me, please say hi. Hope to meet some of you in due course, James Harvey www.specialistkiteboarding.com Edited September 16, 2015 by specialist_kiteboarding incorrect Peak 2 size stated Northern Kites Australia 1 Quote
jhn.holgate Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Welcome to the forum, James. There's a few members from over your way and I'll be heading over to the Lake Lefroy Regatta and Esperance next week to meet up with a few of the locals. Kingston SE in South Australia is an excellent meet up too around Australia Day next January. Please feel welcome to post up pics or vids, reviews or articles on any of the gear you've had experience with too. Cheers, John Quote
gum-nuts Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Hi James, i live in Baldivis and buggy on Lake Walyungup and am heading over to the Lefroy regatta next week. ive been flying de-power foils in the buggy for a couple of years, I have a R1 on its way - should be here soon, would love to see how the FR compares in the buggy mark Quote
specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Mark - come grab a Sonic whenever you are ready - back to back testing is always the best ! I've never done any land kiting, my first introduction was last week with French rider Lolo BSD on the mountain board and skis. Looks like a great way to hurt yourself IMG_0145.MOV Quote

specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Hi Ssayre, I do in fact. The 6 was sold, the 9 is what I have left ( black and blue colour scheme. ). It's also available for demo - I've flown it just the once. Quote

Tiger37 Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Welcome James and good to hear your announcement that we have another Flysurfer distributor in Australia. Are you able to post the test kites to other Stares/Territories? I am interested in the Peak 2 series should you have any to test. As John Holgate has mentioned, it would be good if you had some kites to test at Kingston SA next January. Quote
specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Hi Tiger37, happy to facilitate interstate demos if need be, at the testers expense. I firmly believe in riding as much equipment in your local conditions before spending hard earned $$$. This is is actually why I registered the business, I love the product but couldn't get my hands on anything current here in WA. My first 2 Flysurfers (Speed 2 15 and Pulse 2 8) were all bought second hand from the classifieds. I wanted to ride the current gear, and taking a punt that others would appreciate the opportunity I went ahead and set up the business. I have a normal day job and for now, this is my baby. Perhaps something bigger will come of it ! All the above mentioned kites are ready to ride here in Duncraig, WA and can be sent interstate if req'd. I won't be attending the SA event at this time but again, happy to demo some equipment of appropriate. I think I've used my travel allowance for now (married with young kids). Montenegro used up all my brownie points. Quote
gum-nuts Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Can I borrow a 9m Sonic FR to take to the Lefroy regatta? More than happy to get lots of video/pictures and review it that I will post on here and my blog... http://baldiviskitebuggy.blogspot.com.au/ https://vimeo.com/baldiviskitebuggy Quote

specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Should be fine then. I'll arrange to collect it this week ( out on demo) and work out how to get it to you thereafter. Quote
.Joel Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 would love to see how the FR compares in the buggy I'd be worried without the Ozone logo on the bar you wouldn't know which way around to hold it Quote
specialist_kiteboarding Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Lighter bar pressure, adjustable mixer and better upwind. Of course, I couldn't definitively say whether or not I'd been back to back testing all our competitors last week. Just what I heard. Quote

MaxVMGRacing Posted September 19, 2015 Report Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) ...(Sonic) better upwind....(than R1) Interesting comment.... Based upon which event are you using to determine the Sonic is better upwind than R1? Kitefoil gold cup Mexio, Kitefoil San Fran, German Buggy Champs, Kitefoil Silver & Gold Cup Italy, San Fran club racing? Or is this feed-back based upon sponsored rider comments only? http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Kitesurfing/Kiteracing/R1-vs-F-One-vs-Elf-vs-Sonic-FR/ Sonic vs Chrono V1 buggy racing. Not too many sonics doing better upwind in this video than the Chrono V1https://vimeo.com/130968998 Dont get me wrong. The Sonics are well made, and local lads ive spoken with are enjoying them. Flysurfer is no fly by nigh brand, that are a top tier crew and their equipment is A gradeAnd credit where credit is due, James/Specialist Kiting has been doing a great job, even helping sponsoring local juniors with gear.
