After building my buggy a while ago, I have gotten over the monotony of pulling the buggy apart to transport it. So looking around over the net, I decided to make a simple attachment to transport the buggy (got the idea from Popeye and Van) Thanks. :drinks:post-3124-14336632137481_thumb.jpg

That looks fantastic I like your work. :good:

I have transported my buggys this way since I started.

Mine is very similar, and I remove the Reece hitch and plug the rack in.

The buggy is reversed so its facing the vehicle. This moves the wheels right up to the rear bumper, so the over hang is reduced ( it's leaning back so the canopy can be opened with it still on) and the rack doesn't stick out so far for the Mrs to crack her shins on while I'm on the beach. :D

I have a tray back Nissan (a chopped long wheelbase GU wagon) and this is my bug on it. I did fit another set of LED lights behind the plexi glass window, as the bigfoots blocked the originals out slightly.

Hey guys.. some of you know me from the PKF forum. Very nice build. I've had a few[hdvideo][/hdvideo] folks ask me about building and selling my racks to Australia but the shipping cost is ridiculous. If anyone is interested, I am gonna try to draw up the plans for everyone to use.

Its great that you have a local builder to make the rack. Now that I signed up, I will contribute what ever I can to your kiting community.

Hey van and welcome to EK IV seen ya on PKF IV just been a silent looker on there for some time now :D:D but yep buggy transport is and will be a thorn in people's sides , mine goes on a trailer now but the buggy is made to come apart and fit in a small car ,but the only time it came apart was when I brought it home from the builders place after the wife gave it to me for Xmas a couple years ago ,but the tow ball mount is a good one for sure :good: and I know a great welder in Brisvages if some one wants one made here :good::derisive:

Hi Van,

John S here.... We were working on getting a rack for my Sysmic S2. Your design is great.

All, does anyone know a good welder in Melbourne ...

If not I'll start looking and post the end result.

Thanks guys. I am working on a couple plans for all the different things I've built.

John, hope to get a copy to you this week.

The reason I built my rack so that the buggy faces backward is so you can put the buggy, a large one, on the rack without an assistance. Back up your buggy to the buggy, lift axle onto support, then grab fork and lift straight up.

If you face forward, you have to lift entire buggy up at once and the turn it around to place on the rack.

JohnnyG, i'm mates with an awesome welder here in Melbourne. He's out near me in Ringwood. If you got plans, he'll do it for cash. And he'll do a primo job - he doesn't stuff round. Wouldn't imagine it'd take longer than an arvo to build. :goplay:

I estimated a quote for John and it was different depending on which day it was. I assume it was because it will be ship by air. I got quotes between 300 and 500 usd. That's as much or more than the retail price of 299 usd that the shops are selling them for. That's why I've decided to just provide plans to those that cannot get one locally. At the current list price, I only make about 50 usd on each rack so it's not worth my time honestly.

Hi BakersDozen,

Can you give me the details of this welder? I'll use the plans from VAN and have it made. VAN's design rock's ... thank VAN.

Hope I can have it made by November (in time for speed week)...
