gum-nuts
Another great morning in the buggy, winds were 18 knots with gusts up to 25. Had a blast until the wind changed direction to a northerly then a big walk back! Got some good video using the soloshot 2 with the camcorder and the gopro... gum-nuts
I got a new PB today... 62.9 kph (according to endomondo, so may not be the most accurate!) Also had some fun getting down the lake because of NE winds...
Chook
Well done with the PB. Bugger all wind here and the first day of winter started with 1.3 degrees.
jhn.holgate
Nice one Although if that's measured with your phone gps, I wouldn't put too much stock in it. I've had the phone and the garmin gps both going on some of my bike rides and the phone has been optimistic by 10kph over the garmin. edit: 1221 calories burned is pretty good too..... It was measured on the iPhone - so its an unofficial new PB I was going to get a new GPSr but spent my money on the kite etc for KAP! gum-nuts
Just a test post - was thinking of buggying tomorrow... but it looks like a bit of wind going to no wind and I have to wait in for somebody to come and upgrade out broadband! gum-nuts
The wind is looking Ok for a Sunday morning buggy, could do with it picking up a bit, but the 10m Manta should be a go only last time I flew it, it pulled the buggy over! gum-nuts
Nice! At least someone's getting out there and having a kite. It was a beautiful winters day and the wind came to the party, I am so lucky to live so close to a perfect buggying location - it's dead easy to head out if the forecast changes its mind. Bernie
Hey Chook - looking good over here for tomorrow . Might take out your depower and see how much trouble I can get into....! What's the ideal wind range for it again? Cheers, Bernie
Chook
Dunno Bernie about this depower stuff. Montana 5, 12.5m2 maybe up to 8/9 knots to begin with, just to be sure. The wind was pretty light almost non existent last time you flew it eh. I'd be safe and work your way up. Just fly the pants off it for me. Hope those camera batteries are fully charged Gumnuts. gum-nuts
Hope those camera batteries are fully charged Gumnuts. they will be, aerial with the KAP and the soloshot, just hoping they bring a six metre as I think could be on for a new PB! gum-nuts
I didn't calibrate the soloshot properly so it was off target and the video from the KAP was crap (swinging) but should be able to get some decent stills. But an awesome morning in the buggy.
gum-nuts
I don't usually do Facebook but have had some help to develop a Perth kite buggy page and group, to promote kite buggying in and around Perth, I will add more content in time... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Perth-KiteBuggy-Racing/847785698604731 Edited June 29, 2015 by gum-nuts SparkieRob
gum-nuts
Well after what has felt like a long time we are finally having a bit of sun and wind this week! Which is forecast to break at the weekend with more showers and storms! This week will give Lake Walyungup a chance to dry out a bit, I have Friday off and think I may go for a play in the morning as long as the forecast doesnt change to much...
