    Kite Porn!

Sheesh!!! voice over man???? That was Jim Morrison (dead lead singer of the doors). Hmmmm........ a warm friendly hand. The real question is "your own hand or someone elses!". mike
  3. Neither.... go for a depower kite. Seriously! if you fly somewhere with beautiful clean winds then a non depower kite is great but if you ride in shit wind then depower is king. You'll get spanked a lot less with a depower. Also they already come on a bar. Most people find landboarding much easier with a bar. If you are keen on HQ then get a Neo. mike
  4. The answer to that is 'sort of'. If you are under 70kg then it would be good for a beginner. If you are over 70kg and a really good kite flyer then it would be fine. The board prefers powered up riding (for 70kg+), that's why i say you need to be able to fly the kite. Having said that, this is a very forgiving board. It eats up the chop and is very comfortable to ride. This makes it easier to learn. BTW, I have an offer on it already. mike
  5. Sweet! Top hat rocks. This will be good for the sport. When sponsorship is given out to riders because they are unreal (not because they win comps) is when the sport evolves most. This happened in snowboarding and surfing and the level /diversity of those sports evolved and we are all lucky to have seen it. Go top hat! Now to get out strapless a little more often! mike
  6. Guys and Gals, Up for sale is my 2007 Flysurfer Psycho 3 13m. This is a water relaunchable foil kite designed for kitesurfing or land kiting. It has a 5th line safety system and huge depower. On the water this kite has a range of 13 - 25knots. On land (on an ATB) the range is 8 - 20knots. The psycho 3 has huge lift and excellent float. The only reason that I am selling it is because i have too many kites! The kite comes with the bag and spare parts (bridle lines, connectors, matching ripstop cloth). The kite has almost brand new lines (including 5th) and pulleys installed. The kite has one repair made to it, this on one of the vent openings and on a d-rib (inside the kite). The repair was done professionally (by Bob Dawson) and does not affect the way the kite flies. Other than the small repair the canopy is in excellent condition. Link to the official page is http://www.flysurfer.com/Content/250/?mnid=1079 Price is $850 firm. Located in Sydney. cheers mike
  7. yeah!?!?!? what he said! Damn that was on the site for less than 2hrs. mike
  8. Guys and Gals, Up for sale is my 2006 Caution Redline-132x39. This board has a fair rocker and single concave. It is a very comfortable board to use in chop and waves. It handles powered up riding very well. The caution foot straps/pads are unreal, they are so comfy. I am selling this (and some other kites and boards) because i have too much gear (4 kites and 4 boards). It is time for a reduction! The board is in A1 condition. It is almost as new. Asking for $350 (firm). (located in sydney) cheers mike
  9. Guys and Gals, Up for sale is my 2007 Underground FLX-148x46. This is a 2007 pre-production board so it still has the 2006 FLX-152 graphics on it. The difference between this board and the 2006 boards is that this once has the wooden core. Before that they had a foam core. The 146x48 is optimised for light wind. It has very little rocker and a flat bottom. This board really does get you up and riding in very little wind. It is very easy to take two boards to the beach and swap between them rather than rigging a different kite if the conditions change. I am selling this (and some other kites and boards) because i have too much gear (4 kites and 4 boards). It is time for a reduction! The board is in good condition. It does have a fair amount of scratches on it up they are only surface deep (don't even show in the photos). The condition of the board/fins/straps is excellent (ie, it all works as it should). Asking for $300 (firm). cheers mike
  10. I would seriously doubt that this is the new King. Always good to have more kites to choose from and I have heard that the NEO is quite nice. Apparently it is by the designer of the ozone vision (the one that never saw the light of day). It is water relaunchable and that is a Great thing! @ of these could have you covered for a huge range on land and water! Get us a demo in sydney! mike
  11. Count me in Troy. mike
  12. Thanks Rollyz, got the info a bit late (ie after being in perisher for a week) but now i have a reason to go again! mike
  13. Hmmmm, maybe i am biased because I don't give a rats arse if kiting becomes mainstream or not.
  14. sinbad, dude, chill out. You are a very aggressive person. If you have not noticed EK has changed a lot! There is a lot more commercial content on here now than there was 12months ago. Because you have trouble reading and understanding (please quote me where i stated that EK sold out already) I will make it clear for you "please balance the needs of the kite community with the revenue that you wish to generate through advertising". I am not saying that you are in it for money alone because the passion for kiting is quite obvious but I am saying that you need to be careful about what is a review and what is an advert. You need to be be careful about what is an interview and what is a aural advert. You need to be careful not to come across as holier than thou because it says 'moderator' next to your made up name on some website. You need to be careful not to sell out. mike
  15. I don't think i put a question mark (?) at the end of any of those sentences so the point is any sentence that ends in full stop(.). Hey, I don't question the motivation or direction of any of this expect the risk too much commercial involvement. Some kitemags or websites lose popularity due to just being one big advert as opposed to a community hang-out. For the record, I admire the vision and execution of kiteforum / asnews. I just want a bit more originality from EK and for it not to lose the community feel that it has. I understand that costs (bandwidth/phones/labour/etc) need to balanced with revenue but i don't want EK to sell out! mike
  16. Sy sounds like a top bloke. If you read this Sy, "Good luck with the baby!"....... ps. dron't try an inverted 360 while sleep deprived. EK is becoming a lot like kiteforum / asnews.net Joel the interview even had the advert break right in the middle just like on asnews.net (BTW peeps, there are 120 interviews to hear at http://www.asnews.net). Seens to work for toby and ryan though............ they get to travel and kite and meet all the pros. mike
  17. Yeah! that one with the FS logo is great! There is also a Pulse 2 8m in syd to demo. Seeing as they are all Kitepower kites and that kite power has a store in NSW, VIC and soon QLD then there is no reason that you can't get a demo (unless you are from SA or NT). mike
  18. Damn.... what do they use as tip spars? jousting sticks? mike
  19. Here ya go lads, 292 pages of kite candy: http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2323765 Looks like ooogling the fairer gender is OK on here mike
  20. Wow..... some people have too much time. That is just weird stalker type sh1t. mike
  21. Bloody good move to 'source' the chicken loop from else where. FS are not a HUGE company and i'm sure they can make a nice CL but i'd rather they spend more time/effort on the kites. This also has the side benefit of the industry thinking about a 'standard' CL. The more people that use the same loop the closer we are to a 'defacto' standard. We don't need a official 'standard' release but the more kites out the with the same CL the better. The average rider can then fly any kite and be accustomed to the release system. mike
  22. Make sure the bolts are done up nice and tight.... always. In this case i would check that the truck holes line up on the trucks and the deck correctly. If they are not aligned they will bend again. Also. make sure that the holes are straight (ie perpendicular to the deck). If they are not aligned or not straight then you will be going through many many bolts until you 'straighten' things out. mike
  23. Does anyone know how to get to "the plains of heaven"? They sound nice! cheers mike
  24. Snowkiting is the best! I kitesurf, kite landboard and do a little buggying. Snowkiting is better than all of that! it is MORE fun than it looks. mike
  25. Go for one of the tiny little MBS boards. I think it's a comp 6 or pro 6. Kitepower have a sale on in a week! As for the kites.... once she gets better get her a Flysurfer or a PL arc. This will be much easier for her to handle on land (or an LEI) and you can use the wee beast as super high wind kite! (on land or water) mike
