I'm keen to have a go, just acquired a snow board and bindings. It's a nitro all terrain 164. Has saloman s2 bindings. I'm 6"2 and 15st. So is this a ok board to learn on? Also I would like some boots if any one has a pair of 10.5/11s. Don't want to spend a fortune straight away so so is there any about? Thanks for any help

We're looking forward to another Winter Season in Switzerland. For the latest information on Big Blue's Snow Kiting and Skiing/Snowboarding Holidays have a look here The main change this year is a massive reduction in the accommodation costs. This year the accommodation is in self catered apartments. The apartments consist of a twin room, shower room and an open kitchen living area. There is a sofa bed in the living room making the apartments perfect for 1/2 people, good for 3 and possible for 4 close friends. The cost is £295 for 5/7 nights. All other info is in the link. Don't hesitate to contact me for more info and have a look at some reviews here

Hi anyone been to Beitostolen in Norway? I'm going the week before Xmas and was wondering if I might get a chance to do a bit of kiting out there. I read that there is an area at the top of one of the chairlifts that you can snowkite but I haven't been able to find much info. I got a Flysurfer Peak 6m that I'm learning to landboard with, thought I might take it along being as it is so light to travel with!

just got back from the beach and my first fly of the 13.5m peter lynn leopard and ive got to say the kite has impressed me. the wind was pretty much none existent topping out at about 5mph but I even managed to get some air in the buggy.!! by comparison, I brought my 18m charger and attempted to fly that. to start with it was nearly impossible to get the charger inflated but once I did get it flying, all I could do was very slowly cruise the beach. on the other hand, the leopard got straight into the air and was fully inflated within seconds and once I managed to get my technique sorted, I was getting some small sidewinder airs. I cant wait to fly it in 10mph winds to see…

Hi all, is there any good threads on converting a buggy for snow? I thought about using some old plastic snowboards that I already have on hand. I would be riding fields and not on ice. Thanks.

I am planning to go snowkiting above Thredbo this coming Sunday 19 Oct. The mountains have had 40cm of snow this week, so the backcountry might be reasonable for a last hurrah run If not, then I'll do a little trekking or cross country skiing instead. Has anyone been up there lately to see the condition of the backcountry? The cam at the top doesn't appear to be working

Here's a video I made of the highlights from the first 3 days of snow kiting this season. It's been so good this year, I've had 6 awesome days so far and it still early days for the kiting season. So far we've had almost 2 metres of snow in the back country this winter and every snow fall has have gale force winds. This has resulted in huge cornices to play on everywhere . The next couple of months are going to be sick!!! Feel free to share it if you like it. https://vimeo.com/101717429

Just booked up for a week in La Rosiere Esentially a family holiday but keen to get a bit of snowkiting in. Anyone been? Not sure wether to invest in a depower foil or just take me kitesurfing kites? Used to landboard many years ago and think i will probably hate going back to a foil remember them being very slow and very easy to get tied in knots. Any advice greatly appretiated cheers

Here is the first official video from our amazing expedition to Iceland! In April 2014, I was privileged to be part of the 4 People 6 Legs expedition, in which 4 people, with a total of 6 working legs between them, set out and attempted a world 1st expedition. Our goal was to become the first team including a paraplegic athlete to snowkite across Europe’s largest icecap, Vatnajökull in Iceland. We were determined to prove that no matter the obstacles great things can be achieved, and in doing so support the pioneering work of Wings for Life, Spinal Cord Injury Research Foundation, a charity with the ambitious goal of finding a cure for spinal cord injury. T…

May seem like a daft question but I've seen listings where people are selling kites and describe them as snow kites. Are there any differences between a normal land kite and a snow kite ? I'm asking on the off chance we get a decent covering of snow can I use a kite like a frenzy or a sabre or will I run into problems. I understand that if the kite gets wet it will be hard to relaunch. Thanks in advance. Andy.
