  1. He got a bit rowdy with the guitar last night. Just as well there's nobody else here.
  2. No probs Mark. Txt your address to 0417327908 and I'll check at the PO on wed when I'm back - cheers John (signed in as bill cos I'm on the iPad up the Murray)?
  3. Still in my diary. Weather permitting, I'll be there.

    Bye Dad.

Very sad to read this. Always enjoyed Jim's company. Will be missed but fondly remembered.
  7. Sorry, the only bigfoot fork I've got is for the Vmax which I don't think will be any use to you.
  8. SOLD A set of almost matching Kenda Beachracers on 4" wide sysmic rims. Bearings are in good nic and there's still plenty of those rubber bits sticking out of the tires. Two of the tires match and the third seems a little squatter - I always put that one on the front.....well, after I noticed they weren't all identical..... Located Ballarat, central Vic. Grace my palm with $350 and they're all yours.
  9. Thanks Nigel but I'll be in Kingston
  10. Fast forward 18 months or so and we're now talking 25,000 lumens. Beautiful huge wide flood light that just lights up everything. Doesn't do the max 25K lumens for more than a minute and a good job too with all the heat it puts out at that. But an incredibly useful beam at lower settings. Plus a wall of red light, green light, blue light and UV light thrown in for good measure. And here was me waiting for a 10,000 lumen torch - they surpassed that pretty quickly. 2 more years.....5 more years.....geez, what are they going to be making then? The speed of advancement is staggering. H

  12. Yeah, that seems to work pretty well. Good for spying on birds nests!
  13. 'Bill' was a 'guinea pig' account when I was admin that I used to ban and warn and see how the system worked.  I haven't been able to get the jhn.holgate account to work so I'm stuck with Bill.  This is fine by me and after my little melt down at Kingston, 'Bill' will be keeping - hopefully - a relatively low profile!  Cheers - John Holgate.

  14. Thanks Mez. You could make a special 'wombat' coat to disguise Maggie.....
  15. Spent a couple of days wandering around Wilsons Promontory when the wind wasn't predicted to be much chop for Sandy point. Geez, this place is bigger than I remember and it's amazing how one minute you can be in a shady gully surrounded by tree ferns and not far away are spectacular beaches or granite mountain tops. I could have easily spent one to two weeks and still only covered a small portion of the Prom. @Chook If you and Anne get the chance to visit on your Vic trip, do it - lots of different bird species calling in the gullies. The main Tidal River campground is getting very busy/to
  16. What better way to break a 7 month buggy drought than to give a 9.5m LS2 it's maiden voyage?? Pulled like a truck in 6 -8 knots and put a big smile on my dial. Pretty responsive and easy to turn particularly considering how much depower I had pulled. At one point I launched it in what must have been 2 - 3 knots and wasn't really expecting it to fly let alone pull the buggy - but it launched with ease and with some fig 8'ing got the buggy moving nicely up the beach. Still haven't got the little 3.5m munchkin in the buggy yet. Next time....Nearly out of therapy - this certainly helped.
  17. @Tiger37 Sorry to hear about your mum, Trev. All the best and hope to catch up in Kingston. @mik333 All the best for you and your mum too, mate. I'll head down on Sunday, should be there lunchtime-ish. Will be there for Mon/Tue, if not for some buggying then some walking around the Prom. Hope you get a good day in on Saturday - should be a blast. John.
  18. ok, got the tracker bit working but I can't see the posts - we'll fix it Barry.
  19. Hi Joel, Doug got the 'you do not have permission' thingo when he went to the MWT - which I fixed, except when I tried it as Bill, the tracker comes up but no sign of the posts? Are they under a separate permission somewhere?

    Making the videos

Here's the video making process!....... I start off by copying all my video files onto an external hard drive. I have 10 files from the SJ 5000 cam (should have turned the image stabilization off as it hates being mounted to the buggy). Joel very kindly has given me the drone files from the first few flights, so another 6 files from there. 15 .mov files from my SLR. 47 files from my hand held gopro and 42 files from the ION Air Pro mounted on the back of the buggy. Once that's copied over, I view them in Xilisoft Splitter and cut the bits I want for the videos. Some for a Longst
