What John has done is shown that the long star can be purchased kite only and then flown on a 3 line set up with bar and lines you may already have in your kit bag which may appeal to some people.He has modified the control system to his liking which is shown to be an option without buying a new bar and lines. Watching the two videos it does seem that the 3 line set up is a bit more aggressive than the more relaxed 5 line set up but that may have been down to the wind conditions he had on the day of filming the 3 line system. Bus conductors were always common place in my life as a kid but long gone now. Loved their ticket machines strapped over their shoulder and a ticket given on payment, they were either grey white or orange in colour.

Wow this subject is motoring away,it's like Christmas morning every day this week.I keep getting email from the forum saying so and so has made a comment on extreme kites.Personally I am waiting for Johns video reviews as I personally enjoy them because he includes different views of the kite and equipment, both distance filming and close ups of equipment details along with descriptive and informative comments.Its like being up close and personal with kite gear. Thanks Windance I must try and find someone in the UK to get a hands on demo

I want one I see that born kites offer kite only option.I have spare depower bars and lines would it be possible to fly them on the gear I already have as I am reluctant to buy other bars especially if it's not necessary.

Just seen a couple of these here in the UK at the Dunstable Downs kite festival, they are such beautiful kites to watch in the sky.The Dunstable downs venue is a fantastic spot not just for kite sports but for all wind sports such as hang gliding and paragliding ect All looking over the Cotswald and the views go on fo miles with rolling hills, local villages and farming land.The sunsets in the summer are incredible too. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/dunstable-downs-and-the-whipsnade-estate/

I have seen one of these created out of an early Revolution kite which can be bought at a fairly good price these days and then a hole design put all over the kite canopy,then each hole is hand cut with a little burning tool which cuts and seals the kite material at the same time. Excellent for very high wind flying.

That was fun watching it but I wouldn't like to be in their shoes doing that.

Hey guys just wondering if you get into trouble with the wife for spending too much time with your love affairs? Or is it just me that suffers with this dilemma???

Whoops looks like I opened a can of worms with this one but not completely sure exactly what but reading between the lines it seems that there have been past forum members that have not followed through on their promises if I understand right.A point that I would like to make and has been mentioned above is kite snobbery which I believe we must avoid.For example how many of us would have taken a second look at a certain kite that John has introduced us to in recent months and it as turned out to a best seller so to speak,and many of us have committed hard earned cash in buying them and the results from what I can gather have been great. I was introduced to Pansh when they first started and wasn't that impressed but I understand that they have improved a great deal since then. The very reason I haven't bought them is because of those first impressions and that there are very few reviews about their latest kite gear.Perhaps Pansh would welcome a formal review from a organized kite group or forum which in turn would help them develop their products further. Kite preference is a personal choice and for me it's nice to see the variety of kites in the sky that's available to us has kiters but when it comes to PowerKiting it's very important as many would agree that the safety systems that come with them are safe and effective regardless as to how they look.We must also understand that not all of us can afford the latest gear from companies like Ozone,Flexifoil ect but if companies that are not mainstream such as these,understand that kite safety is of paramount in our sport not only for well seasoned kiters but for beginners too. Anyway just thinking out aloud hope you don't mind Happy flying
