koen1599968714 Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 high tides not till 4pm so plenty on sand until it goes dark You must have a different tide table to me then, I have it just after 2pm. And you found a clever way to b*gger up the quoting system too (try quoting your last message!). Koen.
brassneck Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 yep.. well and truly buggered up the quote.. feck knows how I did that! and I buggered up reading the tide table!! you were right, it was just after 2. http://www.pol.ac.uk/appl/liverpool.html but will still be enough sand........ carl doesnt need it anyway, spends all the time off the ground!

Bobby Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Yep a wee bit nippy but what a hoot!! Not been out in ages but today was a blast!! Gave that 11m Oz a tweak on it's bridle, set it up on the wee 9m's bar and what a fkin sweet combo - had some mega speed runs in them goons and hit some decent highs - very sweet and very cool - loved it. Sorry about taking up your screen real estate but a few pics of one sexy Ainsdale day. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/dann.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/dannn.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/dannnn.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/carll.jpg Must be razor season - tons of em sharp dudes all around. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/carlll.jpg Buggy jumpin' http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/kites.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/uppp.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/sunn.jpg http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/sunny.jpg For a cool November - it don't get much cooler. koen1599968714 Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Had a great session in the buggy. First time with a GPS and got up to 28.2mph. Should be able to nail 30mph soon hopefully! I will need to invest in a harness though, as my arms were killing me towards the end. And it was nice to meet you, Rob!
Match Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/291107/dannn.jpg . Awesome snap.
brassneck Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 yep.. a cool day, the sun shone and I finally managed to get some air out of the wee 8m vortex . good to meet you too, definately recommend a harness to releive the arms a little.. cool pics as always bobby... if you dont mind us using them you should stick em up on photobucket or summat so we can use em for backgrounds. Match Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Anyone planning to be on Ainsdale tomorrow?
Bobby Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Might get down Mat. XC's giving it low 20's and Cob's low 30's. Forget XC, trust in Cob's wee kite forecast. Sunny ints and a titchy high tide around 4.30 but wind's a bit Southerly. If it's real cross shore I'll probably give it a miss, cross-on and I'll be down midday for a play. Gonna check in the morning. And cheers for your thoughts on the piccies dudes, I've a pbase gallery, gonna stick the main files up there soon. And Frankie if you're there, a happy birthday partner . It'd be real cool to see you down there sometime pal, miss the coffees and the banter.
carltb Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 something to get you in the mood................
Bobby Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 35+ and my 9m gets picked up and bowled down the beach (honest Dan it was sanded real good - just a real mean freaky gust ) - stops spookily quick with a razor shell sized hole in the LE bladder . Had to happen I suppose, gonna spend tomorrow seeing how hard these balloon repairs really are. Cheers Carl for the offer of the wee 10V, but after tethered flying you from your harness handle it'd be just a bit too much for my svelt 155lbs . Looks a loony shopping bag sized Sunday - stay home dudes and get those Xmas deccies up .
ribtickler Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Hi guys thinking of heading up in the week sometime, I have been to the beach in the summer and had a look around but never flew. I don't get many chances to get to southport so i just wonna make sure i aint gonna get turned away when i get there! Info would be great Cheers James.
JohnDave Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Hi guys thinking of heading up in the week sometime, I have been to the beach in the summer and had a look around but never flew. I am just askin if you still need a permit in the winter Yes if you're landboarding, buggying or kitesurfing (no if you're just static flying). Permit available from the rangers office. Ring first to avoid dissapointment, Gill is the lady to speak to, number is 0151-934-2967 and if you still need to pay to park on the beach? No, no charge for parking in the summer. I don't get many chances to get to southport so i just wonna make sure i aint gonna get turned away when i get there! Info would be great Cheers James. No probs, enjoy, sounds like there's going to be a few down tomorrow on the water. John
