Bobby Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 @MRMAWALKER - cheers dude, the 3Meg original of that piccie is here; http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/101107/skybig.jpg @Mike - yep had an idea it was. Was gonna say it was me, left the camera on a 10sec delay, jumped on the board and shot into the sky . (Found your board shorts yet? ) @Paul - gonna get the Chill Factore http://www.chillfactore.com/ with the daughters soon as we can - looks a buzz - pity it ain't big enough to take a kite, now that'd be the coolest .

SandMonster Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 Anyone planning to be on the beach tomorrow? gotta be done...looks like we may get a bit of sunshine too maybe later...? PS tho with northerlys & maybe even NE, Fleetwood may be a better bet ...(for aerial antics anyhoo)!
big-jon Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 I am hoping to get down and catch enough wind to give my Access and new buggy a good run out. I can't get down till after 1'ish though, so I hope enough wind and the right direction does decide to stay around for a while.
snowey Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Pete, called in at Chill Factor on the way home, looks ace Only open like you said to experienced peeps to test all the gear. Think steptoe & Son will have to give it a go tho' or is 43 too old to start snowboarding LOL Your never too old to start..... Had a blast on the cold stuff tonight. If you can board/ski I reckon best advice is get down there this week before the big opening to avoid the queues. Probably about 25 in there tonight so no queues but its bound to get busier.

PaulLaurie Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 gotta be done...looks like we may get a bit of sunshine too maybe later...? PS tho with northerlys & maybe even NE, Fleetwood may be a better bet ...(for aerial antics anyhoo)! I thought that but I think that tides will mean no beach from 9-3 Beach at Ainsdale was great from midday today, it's packed hard and flat up to the land sailing signs. Northerly could tempt us up to fleetwood but still reckon we will have more space Ainsdale bound
wurzel Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 there's not much in the way of beach at fleetwood at the mo:(...landies are better off at ainsdale...banging for water play though...
Womble Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 the winds looking ok ish today,i think we might get down there a bit later on;)
big-jon Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 What a fantastic afternoon! Set off feeling it may be a bit of a wasted trip, but when I got there as I was having a chat the wind kicked in and off we went! It must have been the best session I have had in a good few months and boy it felt good, so nice to be back in a buggy and back on the beach I love. It may have also been the kite I was flying - The Access is such a stable, powerful and top kite! So nice to fly, so responsive and so quick! Within about an hour I was back doing down turns, jibes and tack turns! I think I have a new favourite kite - can't wait to race with it A really good day, so nice to see the usual crew and to have a good fly with you all.
Match Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Really enjoyed today too. Big thanks to Ant for packing up and going home, wind was sweet after that PS John next time, don't help
big-jon Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 PS John next time, don't help Yea sorry about that Matt - with all those big kites in the air as we were helping something was bound to go and as I was there it was bound to be me!! (and you)
Madragonn Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 was a lovely day today at the world famous ainsdale beach apart from getting in a bit of a tangle but all was good in the end no one hurt. matt doing a sick 180 to falling over backwards was a highligh. looked like carl got some sick footage on his helmet cam. dont think my hands wil lrecover fro mthe cold.... shoulda worn gloves . p.s. the ainsdale weather gadget has a few little bugs and stuff will sort it out soon will be a graphical windmeter soon!

Match Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 magic, i'll be there with a shiney new dick and a shiney new helmet. been looking at maybe getting another kite, what do you think? (cant afford your blade ) what do you think another arc so i can use the same bar??? Yep, the problem is which way to go? Bigger or smaller? Personally I think you need 2 new Arcs, 1 bigger 1 smaller. She'll understand

SandMonster Posted November 12, 2007 Author Report Posted November 12, 2007 definitely a sweet Manta day yesterday, despite having to reign her in I am starting to get a feel for what that kite can do...ah well, one day she will be free, free to fly like a bird...
carltb Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 was a lovely day today at the world famous ainsdale beach apart from getting in a bit of a tangle but all was good in the end no one hurt. matt doing a sick 180 to falling over backwards was a highligh. looked like carl got some sick footage on his helmet cam. dont think my hands wil lrecover fro mthe cold.... shoulda worn gloves . p.s. the ainsdale weather gadget has a few little bugs and stuff will sort it out soon will be a graphical windmeter soon! sorry tom the helmetcam doesnt seem to work well in low light so most of the footage is useless. most of it is really dark foreground with the sunset in the background or when i was shooting from the other direction its just too dark to use. its a shame as y'all where pulling some sick tricks. next time ill just use my normal cam.
Madragonn Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 its all good carl you were pulling some sick tricks too need to get an ainsdale land based video going on will be a sick one... just wish i could get those footout 360's ive been wanting for ages but just cant get
