  1. Pop in here occasionally to see whats going on. Don't know why cause my last insurance expired just over 1 year ago and I snapped my MBS trucks before Easter last year - they still haven't been fixed. Flew static on Ainsdale the weekend of the fireworks comp last year Be nice to meet up and try to find some of that missing motivation to fly.
  2. Anyone know what the traffic is usually like for the Fireworks competitions? Thinking of going Saturday night.
  3. I swear the gods must be against me  The first weekend i have had the time, the motivation and there has been wind for don't know how many months and then they tell me I can't go. Might be joining Nolan with a kit list if it doesn't get used soon :D

  5. Time I got out again for my bi-annual fly Sunday could be on. Jonathan (Quoth) check your PM's. I'll need help remembering how to launch an Arc as well.
  6. Hello all, not been here for ages Something for Mike and John to aspire to with their VW's http://www.kitemovies.me.uk/images/SantaPodEasterThunderball/_mg_3437.jpg Just had a superb weekend at Santa Pod. All sorts of dragsters, top fuel, top methanol, funny cars, bikes etc. The bloke in the transporter came second in his class - thrashing the pants off all sorts of GTI's, VR32's and Beetle's.
  7. I hope the beach is still there! First free weekend with wind for ages..... Hope to be there fairly early. Anyone else?
  8. Hey John you should have got a Bongo :D Just realised the last time I posted on here was 9th June Have flown a kite once this year since Norway  Really must find some time and enthusiasm to get out again now its cold and dark most of the time
  9. Who's going up to Walney Island this weekend then?
  10. Haven't done yet - been stuck on ferry for 28 hours. But now we are in Haugastol, Norway waiting for wind. :D:D:D Easy journey with a mill pond flat crossing. Clear roads and got into Hotel at 3am. Keep an eye on Turbulence website for pictures.
  11. What was the exchange rate on the ferry like?
  12. I'll bring PS2 for Chalet 3. Couple of driving games, Buzz quiz and plenty of movies.
  13. And don't forget loads of Speed Cameras on the M57. (Quoted from a friend who lives in Crosby.)
  14. Listed on windguru.cz as Norway - Hardangervidda, Veggli http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=75414 I think thats the nearest? Safe journey for all on the 1st trip and don't forget to wave at the webcam.
  15. Looks like the roads are clearing up. That'll be because I've just bought a set of snow chains for the Bongo
  16. Can't remember if it was Sportsdirect or Streetwise Sports but they had an offer of up to 80% off Ski-Wear. Got a No-Fear Jacket (rrp £170) and No-Fear Pants (rrp £70) for £42.50 Also had a fair bit of Airwalk and Burton Gear for good prices.
  17. Dam. I thought I might have got through the day without hearing it/him!! Stopped raining about 8am. Tom said wind at BRS was too lumpy and erratic this morning. Nice lunch at the PYG then met up with Turbulence at Rhyl.
  18. OK the plan could be this..... Get p!ssed Gwynant Friday night Visit wet beach with offshore wind Saturday Get p!ssed Gwynant Saturday night Stop off at Nova on Sunday on the way home? Monday - dry kites Tuesday - open letter containing obligatory speeding ticket for visiting Wales See you all tomorrow. I Hope
  19. Whats the plan for the weekend now its all gone a bit wet and NorthEasterly? Is everyone still going to Gwynant?
  20. Hope to be there about the same time. Leaving Warrington at 3ish but need to stop off in Llandudno and pay my holidays debts.
  21. Reckon I should be there. What time are you firing up the sauna/teepee?
  22. Just looking at the Geilo calendar for 2008 season. http://www.skigeilo.com/menu/information/eventcalendar.html Refers to 26-27 April Season Finale - a weekend of events to mark the closure of the season. Hope this doesn't mean they close down on the 27th regardless of conditions. Lets pray for good wind..... or we get 3 days shopping. Lift Prices 1/2 day - £27 1 day - £30 Pass Card - £4.20
  23. We had a few days at Geilo last year. Not the biggest of slopes compared to some in France but had loads of space set aside for fun parks and hardly any queues either. Think it cost around £25?? for a day ticket.
  24. You mean we won't get to see the big wave just before it hits the ship  Never mind I shall be spending most of the journey lying down and looking various shades of green :o
  25. Managed to capture this from the webcam this morning. Should we be concrened about 'fallout' from the nuclear explosion that appears to have happened just down the road  http://www.kitemovies.me.uk/images/haugostol%20bomb.jpg
