carltb Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Hello all and a belated happy new year to all, I heard on the local radio station that a kitesurfer at Blackpool ended up in hospital, anyone any news. Thanks. Jeff http://www.blackpooltoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=62&ArticleID=1974919 http://www.blackpooltoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=62&ArticleID=1973193
SandMonster Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/viewtopic.php?t=15955 sounds like a bad do for the guy concerned:(
nolan Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Does anyone know whether the tides are right for Bols or Middleton this weekend? I fancy a trip out somewhere, and my mate wants a buggy session but he's not got an Ainsdale permit yet.
wurzel Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 tides are high at mid-day and about 9.5:)
Match Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Regardless of tide times, a tide of 9-10 will keep you off both sites all day as they drain so badly.
nolan Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 That's that idea knackered then! Thanks for the info, fellas.
JohnDave Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Peter Lynn Bar & Lines for sale here, would fit an 11m G2 perfectly. http://community.flexifoil.com/showthread.php?t=111324 John
SandMonster Posted January 19, 2007 Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 don't know what I'm doing yet...met office forecasting more rain sunday than sat...
nolan Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 ...met office forecasting more rain sunday than sat... S'alright, I could do with a wash.
Match Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 I'm thinking of a Sunday morning run out. Guru is predicting NWerlies on 9 and 27km charts. High tide should push us off before lunch so extra brownie points are available. Anyone else?
nolan Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Matt, thanks for the tip about the lens pen. I got one from eBay for 3 snots and it worked a treat. Nice one, bruv.
PaulLaurie Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I'd maybe contact the Rangers, I reckon they might close the beach early. A 9.5 high tide with westerlies that strong is goint to be a biggy. Like Matt said it's going to be an early morn or late afternoon day tomorrow!
aworm Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Beach was closed all morning today and tide was up to the dunes .Would be surprised if open at all tomorrow.
nolan Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 I'm going nowhere anyway. I've just tried to get the front wheel off my buggy and the bearings fell into several pieces!! I'm screwed until I can get some more
Match Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Beach was closed all morning today and tide was up to the dunes .Would be surprised if open at all tomorrow. What time was it closed from, or was it really all morning so they wouldn't have to clear it?

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sorted now. I'm quite glad they broke 'cos I can have a lie-in in the morning now. I might pop along in the afternoon to see what's happening. Will anybody be there?
