  1. Just cleared it.
  2. Colin, you need to start buying some wave boards and Ozone Reos', try them, don't like them then sell them to me. ; ) or me.....
  3. a possible danger to other water users/wildlife, plus they would get calls from shiiping about a kite and no rider, so could be called out again needlessly.
  4. Yep its a terrible place to kite, pretty much two basic rules (ok there are a few others re rigging zone) but essentially get a (free)permit to show you are insured and dont go north of the flag. If kiters were all over the winter bird zone in WK, or there were accidents at Blackrock how long do you think they would put up with that? Come on Colin! ......and dont worry, unless you've moved house you're not paying for the Rangers. Are you sure it wasnt the RNLI you saw down by the water?
  5. right time of year it's a cracking spot. Great for kiting and sailing. Walking etc less than 20mins away.
  6. It's July!
  7. See you out there in April Andy

    Ainsdale

Andy-have talked about that for the last 10 years. There are issues re staffing(less Rangers in the Winter to manage the beach) and apparently ecology....
  9. Wind SW/W/N
  10. Oh dear, perhaps Pooly doesn't have magic powers afterall:eek:
  11. Lee why side step answering the question? Why were you really banned last year, why do you think you might be this year? Very big of you getting Chris banned off Kite Kidz. Believe me I'm REALLY not concerned about you setting up a NW club, but if you think it will change anything on the beach save your time and effort and just go out an enjoy kiting for goodness sake.
  12. Didn't state the reason cos there is no reason... I don't think so; and you KNOW so. What about last year? You just sailed by the flag and got a ban? I don't think so for that either. If that was the case there would be a big gang of banned kiters.
  13. Pooly I am the old school crew. We have never been allowed as you suggest to sail up to Hesketh Drive. The fact that about 6 of us total kited anyway means that 9 years ago we weren't on the radar. The Irish sea is a big place you can go as far out as you want or hack upwind. Re quoting with naming what's the big deal? Simple enough question. Will allow you to read it in context. The point re the BBQ is that with out club funds there wouldn't have been one.Tom did a great job bringing the tent, prizzes etc but AOSKSC paid for the BBQ and the 'boxing ring'. Forshaw puts a lot of effort into these events. However most people there weren't club members. In the past Ken has pretty much given up the evenings to collect cash at the door for the parties(Layne did it last year too)that way club funds are used to under write the events not pay for them.
  14. Why would you be getting a ban Lee, you missed that bit from the post?
  15. Pooly who are you quoting? The first lot looks like you and is simply untrue, the other looks like BA
  16. Andy C I still have copies of the emails I sent to you. The problem with joining the club is other than via the BKSA there isn't an easy way to do it-I've spent many an hour dealing with cash and rash vests when we had to go that route. Not ideal. The person looking after the website moved away and although happy to continue it was getting few hits.As an info only site though it is something that needs looking at again. Ainsdale was one of the first clubs to be fully affliated to the BKSA with risk assessments and everything done.lt has been primarily about access and without it, and Chris, (regardless of whatever anyone wants to say on here) we would all be over at Leasowe by now. If anyone thinks forming another club is going to let you manage the beach think again. What do you think will change? Chris and the school are there to stay EVEN if the rest of us get banned.Top tip-stay well away from the teaching zone when it's in use and you won't have Chris on your case. Remember this forum isn't representative of Ainsdale users, the NWNB's is a niche product! If that's your bag then great, what's to stop you getting together and having a few beers /trips etc? Re the Ainsdale club if you are a BKSA member and not in the club then you chose not to join when you joined the BKSA.
  17. Chris teaches at that end of the beach because that's where the council want him-as a barrier between us and the bathing area.In a SW the flag gets moved towards us because if you're body dragging you going straight down wind(towards the bathing zone), so they have to move up. Chris COULD put the flag up opposite the barrier if he really wanted to make life awkward. Is it really a big deal?-one guy hacked up wind all the way to Formby yesterday so it's not like you have to sail in and out of the kite school. What would folks prefer no regs and a minimum of 4 kite schools Tom, Scotty,Melvin,Chris etc all spaced out along the whole of Ainsdale beach? Chris isn't the problem at Ainsdale-those that happily sail without permits etc are the ones that will get us all thrown off.Funny how Gill had a few phone calls Sunday morning. Re BKSA and funds-yes the members of the Ainsdale club paid for the majority of The Sands BBQ however it was billed.Looking at the membership list though most of the people at it aren't even in the club.
  18. Pooly-I think you want to review what you've just posted about me here.
  19. The flag can go anywhere and in SW it's likely to move further up towards the barrier -the school has the 'bathing' zone at the other end to keep out of so for the same reasons we want it moved to S'port it has to be moved in the other direction.Have tried the Winter zone all year approach for years, and may get somewhere with it one day.Sand pit - hopefully the 10m tides this week will wash it away!
  20. Pooly- one thread was from last year ressurrected by Mart. Yes I hit delete why rake over old issues?. SCS also deleted their post re beach closure once that had been sorted out so that we can kite.
  21. Chris of Westcoastkiteboarding has been working with SCS today on behalf of the kitesurfers and I'm pleased to say that Sefton have agreed that Kitesurfing IS NOT susupended for the next week. The temp closure of the beach to landbased activities however will remain. Thanks Chris A
  22. email coast and country side as per their notice
  23. School Guy is Chris and he has more to do with working to keep the beach open for kiters than being anything else. Anyone with a permit and a valid email should have had an email.
  24. ...and the wetsuit
  25. Chris at westcoastkiteboarding.co.uk can teach her at Ainsdale, unlike any of the above if that's where you want to go.
