OMG!! Was it the best day of 2006? Yeah, I think it probably was.

Certainly was mate, session on the water, a blast on the land, and a few beers in good company

Looks like you had a good day at Ainsdale today.

I've paddled in the med, eaten paella, taken in the sights of Barca, eaten tapas & drank cerveza. 20 deg or so and sunny here, but no kites.

No it feckin' wasn't :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Just like to say a big thanks to the British Gas engineer who didn't bother to turn up or phone to say they couldn't make it. So much for pre-arranged appointments.

Still the dining room looks like a beach now I've cleaned all kites and board.

I feel as if I must firstly start with an apology. Because of personal reasons I have not got round to publishing membership application forms for the coming year, I have been going through a pretty rough time recently which is why I have been very quite lately and not down the beach that much. So all I can ask for is your understanding and appologise.

Anyway due to the changes in the way the beach is now being ran, no-one needs to be a member of any specific club, but to all those who are insured by the Fed, you should be aware that your insurance runs out on Dec 31st and therefore so does your membership of TASKC and your permit.

I have now published new membership forms on the club website (link below) along with the fees and a membership form for any member of any other Fed club who wishes to join TASKC. The club is now a Fed club and as such we are only accepting membership from fed insured members. So if any Fed insured member wishes to get their forms sent off and hopefully back to them before Jan 1st then you need to act fast, again I am sorry for this!

We should have by now had a club AGM but as outlined I have not been able to orgainse this and it will now be orgainsed for the first few weeks in January. There are some issues that need to be sorted out from this year, and once an agenda is decided and a date known I will post it.

Please contact me directly about any issues this brings up - bigjon@blueyonder.co.uk

I will be sending emails out to all fed insured of TASKC ASAP. All other members of TASKC may also like to know that their membership of TASKC will also run out on the 31st of December.

Thanks

John Lewis - Secretary and acting Chairman of TASKC

Thanks for the pics Gary, but they show me actually staying in my buggy. I need to see the ones that show how I spent a large part of the afternoon i.e. on my face!!

Do we still need membership?

I thought that all we needed was insurance and a council permit. Am I missing out on something?

Sorry, just re-read your post and now I think I understand. If you're a member of TASKC then you're screwed come New Year, if you're not a member then you're fine and dandy as long as your insurance and permit is within date. Not wishing to upset anyone, but what's the point in being a member?

Is there any chance that all this nonsense will be sorted out soon? I've been a legit beach member for 4 years and I'm still confused, what chance does an interested visitor to Ainsdale have?

Inclusion not exclusion seems to work everywhere else I've flown, why does it have be so difficult on our local beach?

BRS next weekend anyone?

There is no need to be a member of any club and I agree that it does seem as if there is no real need to be a club.

Except; if you are a Fed insured member of TASKC you can use other Fed beaches, and if you are a member of the AOSPKC you can join in their away days.

There will be a day permit scheme in place by the time the real season starts next year for visitors.

At the moment and for this financial year permits are free, but I feel as if I must ensure you are all aware that from April 1st I would expect SCC to be charging for permits.

Thanks for your best wishes Nolan, I hope to be back down the beach soon and enjoying what Ainsdale has to offer - a great beach and a great bunch of people to fly with.

Frankie, regarding the charge for permits. This is not speculation, although nothing has been set in stone yet, I really think and so do representatives from the kitesurf club, that a charge will brought in when the new financial year starts.

The clubs are in discussion with SCC about this and other issues to do with how the beach will be ran next year.

No figures have been said or even discussed yet, but it will be down to SCC to decide.

I do not mean this in any other way than it sounds, but any club member should take their concerns to their club, who should then carry them forward to discussions with SCC. I guess that would be another good reason to join a club, as you would have some way of being in communication with SCC and have some say in how you feel the way the beach is ran in the future.

Thanks
