AU NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Tides are better for the weekends of 2-3 Feb, 16-17 Feb or 2-3 Mar. Can't tell what the winds will be doing at this early stage so I guess we settle on an  date and hope the winds blow fair.

I'm flexible on dates.

Always keen for a meet and fly.

Keeping an ear to the thread to see what dates are being put around for this meet. 

I know Rob Lukin has finally got his new car organised and is waiting on hand controls to be fitted for him. Needs to do a shakedown trip anyway. 

He also has to go to Melbourne soon and would probably be keen on a buggy if there was a meet happening.

If we are still thinking of 2/3 Mar that’s almost a month off. I’m not fussed really where we go as long as there is a decent caravan park close by. I was kind of thinking of staying the Fri and Sat nights. 7 Mile has a reasonable park at Gerroa. Any thoughts from those who are planning on going?

Coming all the way from Canberra and winds/direction can never be guaranteed, 7 Mile offers a wider wind direction than Windang. (Caravan park right on beach like Gerroa)
Windang is just closer for Sydney guys after a day trip with SSE to Easterly winds.

Thanks John. Is every body happy to plan on 7 Mile staying at Gerroa over weekend 2/3 Mar depending on weather conditions?

One vote against Windang - the parking for a trailer is awful

Yes for 2 March at 7 mile/gerroa

I'll be day-tripping and I travel light so it doesn't matter to me although 7-mile is a bit closer for those coming from Canberra

I'll probs be day tripping with u. If that's still ok..although 2 days outta Sydney sounds better than 1..lol... Will confirm closer to the date. But keen either way..

For those that can make it, conditions are looking fair for the weekend with Saturday being the pick as wind will be more onshore. The wind swings more to the North on Sunday so Culburra or Hammerhead could be better than 7-Mile on the day.

Thanks for this. I was still thinking of heading to Gerroa caravan park for Fri and Sat but if it’s looking more like a one day get together on the Sat, I’d be happy to just head down for the day. What are other people doing?

I am heading down for the day on Saturday - I need to be back in Canberra at 2pm on the Sunday, so there is no point staying overnight.

I will head off from Canberra at about 10 am looking to arrive around 1 ish.

I intend to head to the beach at the northern Berry Turnoff to start with (cnr Beach Road and Gerroa Road) and see what happens after that.

With ENE might head to Shoalhaven Heads Surf Club, but will make a decision after getting sand in my toes.

Do we want to swap phone numbers? I'll start with 0412 081 474.

Wind update. Looks like winds will be NE both days. Unless the wind direction changes on the day we'll probably head straight to Hammerhead Point on Saturday. Aim to get there 11:30 (ish)

Thanks @BobM and @Mfwetu. Sounds like a day out on Sat which suits me fine. Happy to head for either Seven Mile or Hammerhead, although Hammerhead is probably closer to Canberra. When you say Hammerhead @Mfwetu, do you get onto the beach at Currarong or is their a drivable path at Hammerhead Point? I plan to leave first thing on Sat so could meet up at 11.30 ish. My mobile is 0408 612 336.
