I took a used purchase up H.common saturday am to check it flying after sorting the line lengths at work. Barely enough breeze to get it airborne but what surprised me was the common - never known it so waterlogged. Had to hang the kite on the line to dry after!

I agree Tony It's a shame the thread has dried up, I am active and I believe Greg also posts.

The Common has been in a terrible condition this year, always water logged, I have a very poor mobile photo of ducks swimming on the common in very large puddles !

Last year was awesome, dry and good winds, I remember great after work sessions, the last time I tried it this year I had to pre wash my clothes to get rid of the smell. :(

Where are you flying this weekend?

Managed to get an hour or so in today at Cleeve, so worth the travel, wind was the worst I have seen it though, a bit like a moderate day at Hearsall

Ground conditions were good, only a few soggy patches, the wind was S, SW and varied between: bugger all, to 10 to 19, and was quite strong in the naughty corner ! the first time XC has been wrong, packed away in some drizzly mist only for it to clear with some consistent low winds:mad:

Met some brummy / Italian fliers, think Dave C had met Max before and had a go on his Air rush, witnessed some good buggy jumps with an LEI in the changeable winds.

The brummy on the LEI would have been me :)

I thought the winds were pretty good that day which just goes to show the kind of winds we fly in at the old airboss site ;)

Hope to visit Hearsall some day soon (25 minute drive makes me wander why i haven't already) and i'll be back up the hill at some point too :D

I think a lot of the Midlands flying sites will need a few weeks to dry out properly. I know the MASC site was water logged the weekend and KKC is in a similar state. After all the rain this year I think we could do with a few months of nice dry windy weather :)

not for a few weeks tony but guess you will still need a boat, may try it out this weekend if we don't venture out of town. was keeping an eye on the coast this weekend but weather may not play ball.

Tony if you go up Hearsall take your dry suit and the eurotracxx tyres.

Last time I flew at Hearsall the water splashes on the trousers smelt rank, It will take weeks to dry out, what a difference to last year !

The ground was damp / wet at Cleeve last weekend' the week before the Ranger asked the guys to stop as the grass was getting damaged.

Did you camp out at Pembrey and was it cold?

Need to get a xmas curry organised, you up for it?
