  1. Could be worse - like being naked and hanging onto a zimmer for example! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Over 2 years since the last post on this thread!? I finally bought the v3 Infinity, 2 years ago and apart from one light week in Portugal which was saved by the Infinity, had struggled to justify keeping it till today. Too many hopeful sessions where I've ended up going downwind fast on a 137 x 41 Blank force MkIII. So in response to a question to Blast from whom I'd bought the Infinity, I bought a bigger board- 08 Nobile 666 139 x 46 off eBay as a last ditch attempt to get some satisfaction from this kite. Today, on the Bluff at Hayle, trying the new board for the first time with the Infinity, I had the best session yet in ~12mph. Upwind was just 'point and shoot'. Could really feel the 6cm fins digging in, steering the board without even needing to edge too hard, but then the edge taking over once speed increased. Then could crank it right over for some almost 'elbow down' riding. Mind you, stopping the bugger was another matter once it got a slight head of speed:- pulling like a train, but that was probably just as much about being confident with the new board as re-learning how to handle this kite. Anyway, fingers crossed I get the chance to take that pair out again this week as that was a game changer. Cheers Blast for the advice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Gay?! I know where you live. ..and work. This (plus graffiti) will be a bastard to remove from your van especially when lacquered over. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160406/8ab21ac7f74eee0b63100f11bb79f622.jpg
  4. Nice granite worktop btw

Yeah well done bud! It takes a special breed of knob to win this title. Looking forward to seeing you on the water btw.
  6. I don't get up there regularly - bit hit and miss like some others locals also busy with work. It's a challenging place to kite - rarely get smooth wind ( need wsw I think - Chaos?/Greg?), right next to a busy road, people walking etc. and gets very wet (2-3" water) at times over winter. But as its local it makes for some good fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'll be there...with my lad and Mrs so it better be sunny (for them) and windy or else my life will be hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah spot on! If that was you with the beard (?) on the Car park at old town then good to meet you finally! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Had an hour on the common this afternoon, relearning the buggy. Challenging wind as always. 6.5 method- too much. 4m flow just enough but something in between would have been great. Anyway, had the place to myself... Why? Where is everybody? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. ...or an urge to go to Tarifa? I'm plagued by that one too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Whatever you do, don't skip the first lessons- a good grounding is critical for safety. And don't put it off till next year. Just book then think about it after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Do we detect, from the question, that you are having some trouble with the Shinn Street? Have you tried it in more than ankle deep water? You won't be able to edge properly if the fins are grating on the sand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. ...er well actually yes do get out, just not as often as Blast but then it's not my job. Quite like it being something to really look forward to. Why do you Kitesurf? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. ...because... It was the coolest thing is ever saw 15 yrs ago and wanted to do it. Now I'm a Kitesurfer. Cool! It was the hardest thing I ever learned to do though. That adds satisfaction. Just wish I lived nearer the sea! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I haven't bothered with the forum for ages with so much tripe posted on here but this made me smile. Cheers chap! I know I shouldn't really encourage you however. Signing off for another month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. And that's exactly why I'm always playing catchup. Nothing worth reading on here. Life's too short. Rather get out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Just catching up... If you take the women*, you really think you're gonna get good time on the water**? If it's a Kitesurf holiday, go with kitesurfers. ***!!! Notes: * - Unless they're like Mrs Blast **assumes the winds blowing ***KSA 'was a holiday rep' explains everything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. @cottager Mick. Your not Local you mad bstrd so it doesn't count
  19. I've kited in the estuary in an E. Wasn't super strong. I think the wind gets funnelled by the mountains. Need someone with proper local knowledge to post.
  20. He doesn't have a drive but if you want i'll pm his address so you can put Best stickers all over his van which is parked on the street. I can supply the Best stickers- don't know why but a North bar repair came back wrapped in the buggers! Mick has a mortal fear of Best stickers. Can only guess he's confused 'Best', 'Blast' and 'Epic' recently. I'll have a word with his carer.
  21. Imaginative use of 'several' and 'real nice'. Interesting that you have almost as much to say about plastic bags on your hands and feet as you do about jumping!
  22. Agree it was different. Relaxed pace, no Dubstep. Pleasant change. Nice find Mr.B.
  23. Was looking for a post to let Mick know his 'inbox was full'! Seems a totally appropriate place having just read above!!
  24. Just reading back a few posts, the Dakine hook knife review... https://thelazyrando.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/dakine-kiteboard-hook-knife/ ...makes a good point about having it visible and accessible on an impact/float vest. I'm not certain i could locate mine in my harness in seconds. Assuming I eventually did, I have it on 1m shock cord in case I dropped it in the process. Having it visible thought might not help if being submarined in murky water. Another point: twice I've got to a venue, pumped up, sprinted down to the water, kited then fallen. So I'm breathing heavy then I get submerged and the dive reflex kicks in. Then another wave comes overhead. And I'm treading water. Now the sensation that I can't breathe; my harness/wetsuit/impact vest are tight and mild panic starts to set in. I rescued it on both occasions but it rattled me that I'd struggled to breathe. Having researched it a bit, I find it happens to triathletes who get warmed up then hit the cold water on the first swim and encounter breathing problems. Ever since, I make a point of getting water over my head and over my shoulders before I go kiting.
