  1. Been a while since I've posted anything here but thought this might be worth a share. Not able to get out as often as I'd like these days but still trying to keep my hand in.
  2. For Sale: 9m Gaastra Jekyll (2012 edition) LEI kite with bar and lines. No pump. Kite is in great condition with no tares or repairs. All stitching on the leading edge is intact. This kite has been used on land but taken minimal abuse. This kite would suite intermediate and above. Not a kite for a complete beginner. £400.00 - Collection from the Wrexham area or willing to post but buyer pays for posting. For Sale Photos by ChrisPKiting | Photobucket
  3. Come and compete Seriously do... Last year i could only manage 2 tricks and could only jump with the kite on one side of me. The comp pushed me to jump with the kite either side (during the comp, Hank shouted 'Send it!!!' and so i did). With the weather being pretty bad last year i didn't get out as much as i'd liked to have done so this year i went in with about 5 tricks. But on the freefly day i learned a few more, not perfected but they are there. To me its not about placing 1st or last (i do like last though) its about meeting up with the best and getting advice and really pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. I'm still very much the noob of the bunch who fly in the buggy comp but i'd recommend anyone who likes freestyle to come take part
  4. No typo... Smallest kite i have is a 9m and in anything above 30mph it scares the proverbial out of me ;-)
  5. Might be heading that way this Sunday, just hoping the wind eases off a little and the rain doesn't show
  6. Just waiting on my house to sell and i'll be investing in a Speed4 10m first, then looking for a 15m after Going from an LEI to the speed is like childs play. Very easy to get big airs and i feel very safe when i'm up there. I'd like to have gone higher but as it wasn't my kite i didn't want to run the risk of damage. Awesome time though, much better than i thought it would be and even with it being soddin cold i had the best time up there. Looking forward to my next visit up there
  7. Slightly different circumstances but i live in a 3 bed house but i have no other storage so for me its simply remove the back wheels and the forks with front wheel still on and store upstairs in the spare room. To help keep things a little bit more dirt free i had BuggyBagMan make me 2 sacks. 1 holds the front wheel and forks and the other holds the back wheels. makes it easier to get them upstairs too. 5 minutes to take apart or put together
  8. Great.... So I'm going to be driving one of there buses with that slapped on the side... Oh the joys :/
  9. Also nice to have met you Tony... Nice putting names to faces. See you up there again sometime
  10. I think a lot of the Midlands flying sites will need a few weeks to dry out properly. I know the MASC site was water logged the weekend and KKC is in a similar state. After all the rain this year I think we could do with a few months of nice dry windy weather
  11. The brummy on the LEI would have been me I thought the winds were pretty good that day which just goes to show the kind of winds we fly in at the old airboss site Hope to visit Hearsall some day soon (25 minute drive makes me wander why i haven't already) and i'll be back up the hill at some point too
  12. Great edit and nice track... Watching brought back loads of good memories of the event Roll on next years
  13. Well i came up on the Sat but the wind was in the wrong direction and not enough of it. Great for the paragliders up there though. Saw about 15 in the air at one point plus a few gliders. My sister was happy though, more photo's for her portfolio Will be up again at some point though and hopefully the wind will be there too
  14. Search for Uncles buggy belts on the Forum, PM uncle and ask for a belt. Alternative is to buy the webbing, buckles and quick release off ebay and make your own. Hope that helps
  15. Hey Sprogy, thanks for the reply I read the article about the area, sounds pretty much like the air field i use in Loughborough - minus the 'dog eggs' and public We get bad gusts there too so thats something i'm used to. As in the previous post i'm in Tilshead from the 16th til the 19th visiting family so on either the Sat or Sun i'll pop along and show my face, if i can get away with it i'll pop over on both days (weather permitting of course) as its only a 20 min drive. So if you see a new face there sat in a flexi buggy flying either a big green lei or a smaller black n white one that will be me btw, nice vid and edit
  16. Hey folks I'm travelling to Tilshead on the 16th and thought i'd take my buggy and kites over with me and see that the White Horse is only 20 minutes away. Where abouts do I need to travel to and do peeps still fly there???
  17. Still not hit the water... been told once I do that will be it so I'm holding off while I still enjoy the buggy side of things You're correct Andy, I use a 3 point belt to strap myself in to the buggy. It feels alien at first but now I feel much safer strapped in than not.
  18. I'd love to come back down to Essex more, maybe when the camp overs take place. The one thing we lack at the moment at MASC is good freestyle buggiers. I get a lot of help from cafe.racer but that's about it. I know I'd push a lot harder if there were more people like him at the kite park. Plus having crappy weather this year hasn't helped but I'll keep at it
  19. So its been a while since I asked about buggy jumps on here and with the crappy weather we've had this year I've not had the chance to put in the practice I'd like to have done... But this is where I'm at so far
  20. Will be that way in about a weeks time Over to visit my GF's family for a few days and hopefully a little kiting too
  21. Hi folks, thinking of popping along on Sunday for a session if that's ok, thinking of getting there around 11am, looking at the dry bed days it looks good and the winds look reasonable. Is there anyone i can badger to sign me in for the day?
  22. Hey folks, Looks like Sunday could be a good day to hit the west coast and some beaches so i'm wandering if anyone can recommend a good beach I can get to from the Midlands. I did look at Ainsdale but I've not got the time to sort out a permit. Hoylake looks like is on a buggyable weekend - even with all this rain we've has is that still a possibility and whats it like for landboarding? Aberavon maybe? anything i need to know about kiting here?
  23. This is sad news... I sub'd to them last Feb and did wander why it was taking a little longer than normal to get the mag through the post...
