  1. Sort of a new vid.... some of it you've seen before some of it you haven't. There is some buggy cam footage added in. mike
  2. I'm sure i've seen a pulley with a safety backup on it on an ozone kite. It may have even been on my frenzy 06. The pulley was the one at the bar end. You know... the one the that the double leader goes through if you pull top hat. The problem with is that is was very heavy. No one wants to put heavy stuff up at the kite end. I agree about metal rollered pulleys and sand, they clog up badly. And you do need to inspect your pulleys and lines every session. Seriously, how many of us do it EVERY time. Pulleys and lines that run through pulleys are consumables. They need to be replaced often. Recently, a friend of mine found a cheap online supplier and between three of us we must have ordered 20 pairs. They came out at $4 each. Also, have a look at how the pulleys are mounted on FS kites. They sit as straight as a spliced line but without the splice and are adjustable (ie the length of the pulley pigtail). mike
  3. Yeah yeah....... i messed up. I aplogised. Man enough to admit it. mike
  4. can't call in sick............. i am in melb all week and HAVE to do stuff for the eveil master on the saturday. I am cranky because i am in melbourne..... when in rome, do like the romans It's sooooooooooooooooooo cold here. Apologies to all. Didn't see the original thread and can't believe that those two images would randomly come up in recent gallery images. mike
  5. i see............ oops. Never saw the other thread. Who the F reads them all. I thought someone was bieng nasty and slandering the name. mike
  6. Right on the front page of all the forums.......... for all to see. I'm sure that this is joke but if i were Kitepower I wouldn't be too impressed. Not funny in my book. mike
  7. Can't take credit for those words................ Only the Kool Kiter is that smooth. mike
  8. "Your alarm goes off blaring in your ear, yet you are already awake, first time in weeks you have got out of bed before the sun is up with such enthusiasm, kettles on, take a coffee down to the garage and recheck all your gear, kites, buggy, boards, helmets, spin your wheels one last time and check they are rolling smooth as silk. Throw your gear in the back of the car, crank that ignition and hit the road, its quiet on the road everybodys still asleep you make your way quickly to the servo at the beginning of the freeway, pick up a couple of red bulls, put your foot down hit 6th gear with the bass thumping in your ears as you head north. The sun is starting to break free of the horizon as you land at the place where the desert reaches the sea on the east coast ,the tide is on its way out the wind is blowing in your face the beach is all yours you head over the dune, only to find kite junkies already there earlier than you flying up and down the beach getting amped for the weekend........... THIS....... is......... MAYDAY! See you all there :)" by the kool kiter
  9. I remember asking Goshen about this once. The blue kite is a 2003 frenzy. Goshen did try it on handles but i don't think it worked really well. I'd guess that the riding in the vid is not with the blue frenzy but with a Blade. mike
  10. Geez... I used come on here rather than the other place... sea cough cough breeze.... because it was full of agro, bad attitudes and too much keyboard kiting. Now i find myself going back there more and more often. The people there seem like angels with very thoughtful things to say. Maybe my wife should sign on here, she loves soap operas and mini-dramas. mike
  11. I will be working.................. But as soon as it snows!!!! Let's go! mike
  12. I am keen for that weekend and many many more! I hit the end of season sales last year and have my own snow gear now so i am keen to get my monies worth out of it. mike
  13. If this "12 Ozone Frenzy '07 Depowerable Bar X-Demo" doesn't sell you should bring it to the snow this year..... i'll keep her warm for you mike
  14. I like to call this 'the fear'. At one time or another we all get it. The best remedy for it is to try your move again. If i get slammed doing a new move and i feel the fear i will go and do a few simple moves. NEVER packup and leave. This leaves you with the fear until you next go out. Man it up! and face the fear. Or as chopper would say "Harden the F*&k up!" mike
  15. Below is a message from the arialist formerly known as rocket----------------------------- Tides are low 0.30 of a meter at 1.40 pm, Saturday Outlook: Wind: S/SE 10/20 knots. About as good as it gets. Ill be right up the Birubi end from 10.30 you will be able to buggy from then onwards, if you don't have a 4wd, there is a carpark there and a 30 meter walk to put up your kite and you are away. Be good to catch up with some flyers. Cheers xxxxx

    PC or MAC

My mac has crashed once in 3 years! My PC.......... has been rebuilt 4 times in the same time frame. But...... Apple are becoming microsoft anyway. After the last OS upgrade the mac would not boot. Needed to boot into single user and manually delete some files..... since the upgrade some applications (iDVD) will not work ( i have tried iDVD 06, 07, and 08). So in 3 years time we will have to choose between crap and crapper! mike
  18. Got mobbed on Stockton beach by japanese tourists...... I stopped and they just flocked me. Touching me, patting me, taking my picture, hugging ..................... it was fcuking nuts. I had the kite in the air the whole time in gust upto 30knots. It was a dangerous situation but a great 'rock star' moment. mike
  19. 12knots take it easy................... it did gust to 14
  20. A comparison to PL............ power per square meter is very different. I get better low end out of my P3 13m then i did out of a Venom 19m. More top end too. The p3 13 doesn't get too much until 25kn. Launch and water relaunch is a lot easier with the flysurfer. The safety on P3 is great as it has a 5th line. You can actually pull the chicken loop and then still be able to relaunch. The PL kites were more stable though. That is the only benefit of a PL over a FS (IMO).... oh and less bridles and pullies. Packdown is also better on the FS as it is smaller and has no rigid sticks. I would compare the P3 8m to a Venom 13 but with a bit more range. mike
  21. what's this..... http://maps.google.com.au/maps?t=h&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.319332,151.51755&spn=0.002636,0.004351&z=18 Anywhere in here that isn't developed on yet and you could get away with? http://maps.google.com.au/maps?t=h&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.308225,151.52689&spn=0.010544,0.017402&z=16 Time to go and check it troy! BTW, i have been to norah head recently...... didn't look like much beach there. mike
  22. hahahaha... .for me it would be the 8m Pyscho3. I like them fast and nimble with the ability to spank you in a hurry! mike
  23. Good choice Phil. For 10-15% it's not worth. If you buy 4 kites KP or others can be 'arm twisted' to drop 10-15% anyway. If it was 30% cheaper OS then it would be another story. mike
  24. The short answer is yes....... The longer answer: there are many spots around botany bay that work in various wind directions. Bring up google earth, zoom it in and look for the kiters! mike
  25. The coming week we will upload a new Kiteboarding video for you every day! See our FLYSURFER team in action on land, water and snow! Be sure to check out all of them. http://www.flysurfer.com/Gallery/v/videos/FS-Videoweek/
