Gave Rob one of my Lyrica once at Yeppoon for his pain (me and Chook needed some peace and quiet from the bitching and groaning) couple of hours later Rob is kite down sitting in his buggy on the beach we thought he was waiting for wind. Turns out he was taking a nap for an hour or so. At least he felt good enough to go buggying that day.
I was given it to stop muscle spasms from a crushed spinal cord, and my old man takes it for his parkinson's. Seems to work for a bunch of things, but watch out for nanna naps.
I know where your coming from with the pain though, I have had to endure some god awful pain over the years from spinal injury. 4 years waiting for surgery you learn how to tune it out to some degree after a couple of years, but it never goes away completely and makes your life a misery. At one stage I was on a ludicrous amount of Endone and was popping them like Tic Tacs just to get through work each day and that was just to take the edge off the pain. Sometimes it got so bad I couldn't stand up and had to have Fentanyl patches so I could function and walk.
Hang in there mate. Keep your chin up and try to stay positive. Above all don't let it beat you.
