DJi has released the Mavic, looks like a nice compact form factor and feature set. $1699 makes it about the same money as the Phantom 3 Pro and cheaper than the Phantom 4. Batteries are cheaper than the Phantom 4 so that's a plus. http://www.dji.com/mavic http://store.dji.com/product/mavic-pro

What does $2400 buy you these days? How bout a Phantom 4? I've been really impressed by Joel's Phantom 3 and it looks like they've added a few features, of particular interest is a 'tag' mode where the drone identifies and object and follows it....damn handy!

Here's a very thorough and sometimes funny review of the very impressive looking Parrot Bebop Drone. Amazing internal digital stabilization. It's a bit pricey too but seems pretty user friendly...
