Bobby Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Yep, SEasterly gusterlies are full of accidents. 10->30! Scary stuff. KKs ain't complulsory and most static pepes wouldn't know what you were on about. And how many statics think about trouble anyway. We do cos most of us have been hurt but your virginal Argos kite jockey ain't gonna be concerned with a big ugly wind - till hes been battered by the first launch. Saw one dudette planted good style on her pretty backside on Sat - tried to explain that the kite was a wee bit big for her to handle, but she says 'it wasn't last week' - how do you explain different days different winds to these people. KK's or maybe compulsory helmets for all 4 liners, personally I'm not one for any more rules its your own responsibility, we just gotta look out for each other. It's blowin' 20+ and some ebay junkie unwraps his maiden flight 6.6 Blade - gonna be difficult to stop them, but you gotta try. Unless you've a real wicked streak .
garykf Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Blimey...what time did you guys leave BRS on Saturday...almost sunset Nice photos...thought I might be in the background:( F/O Kite Wind was still blowing sweet when the sun was setting, seemed a shame to leave;) Nolan, hope the knee heals soon fella, didnt see the crash but heard the kite come down with a bang. Will be down again on Saturday, tides look good for a full beach and just hope the wind plays ball. Water and land.....great combo at BRS:D
SandMonster Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 Stayed 'til it went dark...followed Tall Paul back on his Carnaervon avoiding route...worth knowing...

PaulLaurie Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Stayed 'til it went dark...followed Tall Paul back on his Carnaervon avoiding route...worth knowing... I had an interesting journey home, the whole of my dash instruments packed in so I had no speedo, just a couple of lights usefully informing me my doors where open!! I had to follow other people all the way home hoping they wern't speeding
SandMonster Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 Glad you made it back...still I'm sure a nice yellow van would have stopped to help if you'd broke down... Still buzzing from saturday...could have done with a buggy mounted cam to get some footage of those speed runs Gary was doing...must be going a bit for a buggy to stuggle to overtake a board, though he was sticking to the dry:rolleyes:
nolan Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 I left an unmarked packet in your van John, thanks for the parcel of "brown". It's good gear, with one hell of a kick! I'm gonna have to slow down with it though, my teeth are gonna fall out.

Bit unnerving when I looked over my shoulder and saw you about 2ft away:eek: Last run we did was 38.03mph, you must have been going faster towards the end as you flew past me. Sitll cant break the 40mph as much as I try.
SandMonster Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 Got a block of "white" here too... mint cake by any chance...?

nolan Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Bugger! I wondered why it was blocking the syringe

To do 40 on a board must be scarey as hell, good luck to ya buddy I said to Nolan on Saturday that you where shiftin!! and you were Your gonna do 40 soon
Bobby Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Cobs is giving it soo good for tomorrow afternoon if I can conjure a cunning plan might make it for a late Thursday landbash and splash. Don't get real dark til after 6.30 so should be plenty of playtime. Low water at 3 so Goonworld opens round 4. .....and if we get todays Spring has sprung, bikini top weather, it'll be perfecto .
JohnDave Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Saturday's looking sweet for Ainsdale, or are the blackrock faithfuls paying hommage again?

nolan Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Gwynant opens on Friday 23rd, we'll be there. Hopefully we'll be spending the Saturday at BRS. This weekend is gonna be a no-fly weekend for me, my knee is knacked. Having said that, it does look nice n windy..........
Bobby Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Not a soul down there today to play with that big SWesterlie. Sat looking another SW blow. You Brock pepes be way better off heading for that Welsh coast. Ainsdale Sunday looks a fandabby direction, bang onshore but blowing a hoolie - what else would you buy a wee V for . Bye bye Lido - scafolding up, roof slates being ripped off and the inside being torn apart. Spoke to a guy who says only 4 weeks and you'll wonder what was there before. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/lido.jpg Just a fading reminiscence. Sad stuff. _____________________________________________ Play recommendation - Electric Hills - Everyman Theatre Liverpool And for afterwards, any of the cool and chilled out bars in Hope Street .
nolan Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I was gonna head off to the beach, but I've just looked at Skylink: here 16MPH GUSTING TO 42.9MPH - NO THANKS!!!
SandMonster Posted March 17, 2007 Author Report Posted March 17, 2007 were going anyway, hopefully not as gusty on the beach;)
Hippy Tim Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Heading home. Some decent fun had earlier, until rain, increasing wind and soggy kites stopped play (apart from mike, who apparently doesn't let little things like that stop him ).
