nolan Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Who's out Sunday? and where? Not sure yet. Gonna keep an eye on the wind/weather and decide nearer the time. Hoping to do a double-whammy at BRS, but I don't fancy kipping in the van if it's gonna be -30c or summat stoopid
garykf Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Who's out Sunday? and where? Not sure yet. Gonna keep an eye on the wind/weather and decide nearer the time. Hoping to do a double-whammy at BRS, but I don't fancy kipping in the van if it's gonna be -30c or summat stoopid Still watching the wind, def up for one day or other, fed up of shopping with Jill:eek:
garykf Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Also......Andy Pandy who used to fly with us in Heaton Park is looking to sell his MBS Core board. I have seen Andy recently with the board and it is brand new, work wise means he wont get the opportunity to get out and about, so if anyone wants a top nick board for £130 with personal delivery by me(!!!)....let me know.....
garykf Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Wind looking a bit more southerly for BRS on XC:)
JohnDave Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 BRS Sat for me. Cobs is giving SE at 9am, then swinging to E by 3pm. Low water at 7am, high at 1pm. Looking like an early one Tim, bring your pillow, you can sleep in the car. John
Hippy Tim Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 OK. But I think I'll leave my 2mm Lidl wetsuit at home...
SandMonster Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 ...but snow, sleet & rain forecast for tonight according to met office...may be miserable journey wherever you go:( John & Gary are you definitely doing BRS sat?
JohnDave Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Is the forum knackered? I can Tim & Mike have both posted, but can't read the posts.
JohnDave Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Looks dryer at BRS than Fraisey, or should I say it looks more like snow / sleet at BRS compared to sleet / rain at Fraisey. I'm open to ideas, but BRS looks like the most sensible place TBH.
snowey Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Looks like NorthWestNaughtyBoys are heading towards Wales to find snow. Probably head out with beach and snow gear at the ready. Stop at the first suitable site
garykf Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I'm up for BRS, looking to get there earlyish (9.30) fingers crossed the roads wont be too bad, ealry morning check up needed
nolan Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I'm up for BRS. I'm hoping to set off by 7:30, but I'm gonna check the snow before I go. The van is a scary mofo in the white stuff.
garykf Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 how about we stick a post up around 7ish in the morning to confirm who is going.....
Match Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Sunday look s better Less snow, SW wind... You all knowz it makes sense!!!!
JohnDave Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 I'm leaving now, see you on the beach.
nolan Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Met Office site looks quite promising: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wl/porthmadog_forecast_weather.html Apart from the bit about the wind! We shouldn't get too wet though
SandMonster Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 I'm not bothering today...weather looks a bit dodgey...going back to bed ...so it should be a brilliant day...lol:rolleyes:
Match Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Hope you all had a good day... you lucky boys I'm gonna stay local tomorrow and do Ainsdale. Wind straight up the beach, good tide times and height, bit damp but nevermind. Anyone else?
nolan Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 God bless BRS, the beach that never lets you down!! You silly buggers missed a great day. Those of us that went hit the jackpot, but, for those that didn't, "Look at what you could've won": Arrived at 9am to find an empty beach: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k144/nolan69/P1020150.jpg John arrived with his pink kite: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k144/nolan69/P1020160.jpg Big G got in a buggy: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k144/nolan69/P1020164.jpg Carl got his skates on: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k144/nolan69/P1020169.jpg Baby do the walk, Baby do the walk of shame. snowey Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 http://www.kitemovies.me.uk/images/llangollen.JPG We were out playing in this lot. Nice field but in a valley so too gusty for kites.
garykf Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Guys...BRS is just the sweetest beach whatever the weather. A great day and, got loads of phots some of which I will upload later:D
nolan Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Forgot to mention that big respect must go to the buggy freestyle innovator a.k.a. Garykf. I was proud to witness the unveiling of his new trick - the 360 barrel-roll. The hours of meticulous study and practice that must have gone into nailing this trick beggars belief. Huge respect, mate.
