JohnDave Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Having been back and forth across the pennines a few times in the last few days I know exactly where the snow is . It all fell around the stockport / glossop / north west peak district area. I know there's always people sledging as you head up the snake pass from glossop, through the national speed limit sign and round the sharp bend with a house on it, on the golf course on the right. Depends what falls before the weekend I guess. Have fun John Is that area any good for a snowkiting trip? Could be OK, but not ideal (road / slopes / possibly powerlines) Better would be the fields around the A623 (Chapel-en-le-Frith to Stoney Middleton section) This would be a little flatter and smoother, though there could be issues with gaining access there. Beware that the road through Stoney Middleton is closed due to mud at the moment. I'll be waiting for the snowfall in Andorra myself if anyone wants to join me:) John

The National Speed limit sign is now a 50mph sign, and (whilst driving round the bend and in the dark) it looked like there was plenty of snow on it. John

nolan Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Right boys & girls, it's time for a major clearout. I'm gonna be sticking a ruck of kites on eBay next week, but I thought I'd give you guys first dibs. I'll be getting rid of: Samurai 2m Samurai 3m Samurai 5m Samurai 7.2m Bullet 3.5m Riot 9m Frenzy '05 10m If any of you are seriously interested in any of the above, drop me a PM and we'll talk dirty! I'll have them all in the van at the weekend, and you're welcome to test-fly any of 'em. I reckon I'm gonna be a deffo for Saturday, and a probable for Sunday, but I could swap days if the offers are there. It's gonna break my heart to sell some of these babies, but Access IIs don't pay for themselves.

Match Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Matt, it's easy... 'Sefton Council Rangers will return to issuing permits for the Kite Zone. In order to gain a new permit you must book an appointment with the rangers by calling 0151-934-2967 and giving your details. Then visit the office taking proof of insurance to sign up and collect your permit. Appointments can be made for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday morning or Sunday 10am-4pm.'
