mathers Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Was good to get out on Sat at BRS and see a few faces, and have a sesh on the land. Seems ages since I got some decent (ish) wind. This weekend looks like it might have some potential too. Lets hope it's a trend and 2009 is better than '08 for those Westerlies.
SandMonster Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 Will the forecasts be right for tomorrow?....
big-jon Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 The wife blames me for this, I have been hoping for a westerly for ages now at a low-tide weekend and now we get some its not just a wind its a feckin storm!!! Looking at the forecasts all of them ,except BBC, says that its going to be wild today with an average of about 25+ with gusts up to 35+ increasing as the day goes on. Sunday, to me looks a bit better, except BBC, with speeds about 20+, gusts up to around 30 - but who really knows?? I think I am going to go for tomorrow, but then having said that now that I have made me decision, today will probably be better!!
big-jon Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Gonna go and give my new 6m an outing! Lets hope the wind has settled a bit !!?!?
PaulLaurie Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Anyone thinking of it? Nah! 35mph SW not my idea of Ainsdale at it's best hehe.
big-jon Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 It was a bit balistic!! You can tell it is getting a bit bad when all the kitesurfers down kites and start coming in! Had a good blast though and yes I do love the 6m Access as much as the others! First good session of the year and lets hope its not the last, but next time maybe just a bit less wind might be good
garykf Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 That was a bit of a storm that passed through. One minute we're on the water, the next everyones heading for land. Good fun though:)
Crashgordon Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Not wishing to gloat but you should have gone early. We were there around 10am it was blowing 22mph then. I came in around 1pm when it started to lift. Having said that i decided not to go on the water, way too cold for me. But brilliant session on the buggy.
garc Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Yer I just got off the water in time I reckon. And I still got lofted on the beach !! Ouch. Got away with it though thankfully.

PaulLaurie Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Did any of you lot get to the beach over weekend? Looked like an OK Westerly Saturday but couldn't make it. In fact is the 'dale still there because it's all but disappeared from my memory
SandMonster Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 Maybe it has disappeared... crappy wind from a crappy direction...booo!
