@gravyboat - Forecast looks good - especially Sunday - if it holds and she doesn't moan ;), might camp over a couple of nights. Still got lots of ASDA Fosters left, (very reasonable at the mo :p).

@brassneck - deffo book if you're going over the BH - Roy the camp warden said they were very busy taking bookings with all this good weather. Lots of other camping sites around but this is the best one for us kiters. (Did notice a Venom in the next bay with a caravan site close by but didn't investigate). Would ask any kiters to be good boys though cos this is one of those peaceful 'you'll get kicked off if you create a problem' camp sites. Don't want us to be banned from here - its just too good.

@fredbone - get back over here dude, blue skies, blue water, no posionous critters, lots of loverly girlie kiters (at least 5 at Lligwy) and its Summer soon here.

Hope all's well Chris with you and yours :) .

have a look at this site http://www.aospkc.co.uk/ all the info you need should be on there

I need to update a few details on permits on the AOSPKC site. It's even simpler now...

Call the Rangers Office (01519342967) to check either Gill or Julie are available to issue your permit on the day you can get down there. They aim to be available throughout office hours Mon-Fri, Sat 9-1, Sun 12-4.

All you need is valid and current insurance (BPKA, BKSA, FED, etc)

See you down there - Matt

Well the plan was not too get to pised tonight and head out for Lligwy early Sunday to grab a hold of those Easterlies, then I saw this pink arrow thing on Cobs heading our way tomorrow afternoon.

http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/cobs.jpg

XC gives no such good news but Cobs always did whoops XC's ass.

Now that pink thing mightn't touch the beach but we've had similar decent afternoons all last week when no blow was forecast.

Difficult call - either Lligwy and confirmed Easterlies on a sweet beach but with a sober 2 hour drive or our home sands with a maybe decent NWesterlie no long drive and I can get battered.

I was in Freshfield woods and on Formby beach today (trying to track down the elusive red squirrel! Didn't see a single one :( They have that nasty Grey squirrel transmitted virus and it's killing a fair few of the reds :( :( ) Anyway when we got on the beach it felt like a good 10-12mph onshore, where did that come from! Hope some of you lot ignored the easterly forecast and got down there

Beautiful day anyway, just wish the squizzers where on the increase rather than suffering more pressure to squeeze them out :(

Should'av gone to Anglesey :(.

Miserable bits of fluffy onshore breezes with nowt to show but a wet wettie and a muddy kite.

Looks like we ain't been told and the earths spinning the other way - Forecasts give easterlies for ever :(.

As the sunshines seems to be continuing though I'd post up an ebay link to that Gelert tent I've been using these past few weeks;

Can't praise these enough, dead simple up and down (bit of a knack getting it back into the circular pack, and the blonde bust the angle bracket on first attempt - she can be one Pansy Potter sometimes ) loads of space for a couple and a few kites and boards. You can even remove the flysheet to gaze up at the stars - real romantic like :p.

Thinking of taking this as the official Glasto tent, might miss the space compared to the 'monster' piece of canvas we usually pack but this wee dude is easy peasy to carry and that walk to and from the the motor is one murderous trek.

those easterlies just aint for a turnin.... so its a tentin' trip to the east coast this weekend if anyone's up for a bit of fraisthorpe.

staying here (fri & sat) , right on beach, might even be able to kite right out the front door :D , if not its only a short hop up to fraisy.

www.seaside-caravan-park.co.uk, plenty of tent pitches avail if anyone fancies it... £8.30 per night (think you pay few quid more for each additional person).

PS That campsite's quite a way out of Brid. There IS a campsite right by the beach (well, 2 mins away, you could easily walk with your kit down onto Southshore) but I can't find any details of the campsite, just the cabins etc.

Details here: http://www.kwikbreaks.co.uk/search/Yorkshire/Bridlington/1606.htm

Give them a ring and ask about the campsite at the entrance to South Shore Caravan Park?

Alternatively if there's a few of you, there are usually a few chalets for rent relatively cheap. We used to get 6 in one, and paid about £15 each for 2 nights.. and

If it stays this way then it's got to be Lligwy - much closer and the campings cheaper :).

Bobster: you definately off to LLigwy this weekend? Jill is off to NYC, I'm on lonesome, with new kites that havent even sniffed fresh air yet:eek: Desperate for the water and maybe a few cold beers somewhere.:)

Hi Gary

Yep - could be.

Only thing is got to take a few girlies over to the M.E.N. on Saturday to watch the Osmonds (and no I ain't staying to watch Donny and the rest of that arthritic bunch - though the dudes the same age as me ).

Might do Fri camp and Saturday morning and rush the taxi back or else go early Sunday come back late or maybe stay over till Monday.

Early days weather wise - changes by the minute.

Was really hoping the local beach would have a westerlie by the weekend.

Hoping that arrow is about to turn.

Well these easterlies haven't been too bad. Had a trip over to Norfolk for a bit of sailing and crossed the wash from Brancaster over to Skegness. Was met by the Coastguard at Skeggy who wanted to check we weren't immigrants:eek:

Managed to sneak in a bit of kitesurfing at Brancaster. Lovely beach but there's a load of WW2 remains on the beach still, wouldn't want to catch your kite on those nasties

Sunday we sailed down to Hunstanton and back, then beached near an old ship wreck out at sea. The army used this as target practice until they ran it aground and sunk it!

Boiler doesn't look too bad, Pooly's van is in worse contition that this:rolleyes:

Looking out the otherway the beach was packed with kites at Brancaster

Down to Wales this weekend, but maybe a chance to get to Ligwy if these easterlies continue
