JohnDave Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Ainsdale for me it the winds plays. Havent had a decent sesh for ages:eek: I'll probably head down to Anglsey Gary, looks like perfect conditions. Let us know if you're up for a trip.
Bobby Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Happy New Year! - first session of 08 today and it was a corker . About 10 of us out in 15-20ish winds - OK it wasn't perfect those blows were from the SW but I'm taking the upwind crown - didn't stray past the car park and no other bods came past (took no technique just a big fat board). Big blue skys and warm(ish) SWesterlies and a butterflat goon all to myself - not there yet, it's only April I sppose, but close to perfecto. Oh and another pair of Tesco's best sunspecs washed off and lost in a girlie 'commit or die - bugger that' wipeout . Good to be back, beer and rubber the perfect combo (even though the black suit was a wee bit tight ). Don't look great for Sat - you're right John, Newborough or Rossy looks cool.
mathers Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 Great sesh last nite, clear skies and nice winds, (apart from flying backward through the air before cracking my head against the sand in front of the carpark). First nite without the hat/golves/multiple t-shirts. Bring on the summer!
Bobby Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Lookin' good there Carl - cold but very cool. Orrible weekend here, a wrong wind Sat and a rain filled suicide Sun. Tomorrow looks a good possibility, SWesterlies but so was last Thursday and that was so good. Only a tiny 7m HT at 4.30 so just a wee walk. _________________________ Saw Dara O'Brian on Saturday - if you're a Mock the Week fan try to catch him - the dudes so funny.
carltb Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 actually its only cold when its overcaste. most of the time its t shirt weather.!!! later on i was bare chested (a sight to see)
brassneck Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 looks like Peter & Lynn served you well out there in norway... any vids? weekend not too bad, crappy cross/off shore, but a first fly on my LEI (big thanks to gary and chris for helping out)......may even be splashin around in the wet stuff soon....
Bobby Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 actually its only cold when its overcaste. most of the time its t shirt weather.!!! later on i was bare chested (a sight to see) Yeh - right, Norway's cold, ice is cold and I bet making yellow snow gives you frost bite. And the worst of it is lager is £6+ a pint! I could never survive . Looks like a week of local crapp wind - Lligwy looks on for tomorrow so might just take a trip.
garc Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I got a goon to myself this morning. Awesome. Thursday morning looking poss.

Match Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Just waiting for the council to put another 50p in the meter. Last data output on 20th at 12.34 I'll mention it at weekend if not updated.

Bobby Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Nice Carl - must be one cool feeling being pulled up that hill. Looks a bit 'sedate' for you though dude - need a few more mph for you to start rotating under that big blue kite of yours. Though from the previous piccies I spect you got it . Load of Easterlies heading our way but looking bang on for a tea time treat tomorrow ladies - teenage winds and a ht around 8, if the rain stays away it should be a good 'un . Might be the weeks only blast .

SandMonster Posted April 30, 2008 Author Report Posted April 30, 2008 Saw the Atmosphere 08 vid on the BBC, how many kites!!!! Mike & Tom, did you go?, it looked a ball http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7372259.stm Yea was a really good event, well organised, managed to include all the powerkite sports & looked after the spectators too ... I'm guessing about 350-400 registered attendees tho not all flying at once...Tom was moaning about the beach being 'too busy'...despite managing to bag a prize in the longjump lol ... it was a long drive, but thankfully there was wind:) ...would be good to have a bigger Ainsdale crew next time (if there is a next time - & if Al has recovered in a year or so's time)
Bobby Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 more.........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHzyQoO5l5M Fantastic stuff dude - funny wee first one, great comic capers audio, and that jump midway through the second was huge and nicely landed - I wanna av a go . Great white wipeouts too Thanks Carl for taking the time and trouble to stick these up.
