big-jon Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Sounds like Kitejam was a good weekend for all involved - hope you all had a good time?? Is it now possible for people to get involved in helping and supporting the October event at OUR beach as much as they supported that event? Sorry to get political but it needed saying????
Mark Rose Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 The beach was glorous last night. wind was about 16 mph onshore and the place was deserted. Buggied till the sun went down followed by a the usual bag of chips.
Bobby Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Showed up on the Saturday to watch the kitesurfing heats and thought the KiteJam was just great , really well put together by the Turbulence team, difficult to fault the organisational skills of these people. Nice to see so many Ainsdale flyers down . My surfing target for next year - get my name on the 2006 heat sheet . Few weekend piccies - had a raft of pics of me and the blonde in 'dudno - but not many of them are kite related . http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/andy.jpg UpaHill Andy getting some turbulent air. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/jake.jpg Jake on his 8 Venom - people complained about the wind - though it was blowing great Sat pm. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/calf.jpg Had to show you this cute little guy on the field by the camp site. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/airshow2.jpg Sundays Southport airshow was awesome. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/airshow1.jpg Sorry about the zoomed in quality - hanging from one leg under a 20's biplane. Not for the feint hearted. Winds picking up from Tuesday afternoon onwards - down there tomorrow around 13:00 - high tides round 17:30 so surfing the lagoons as they form .
carl999 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Top weekend was had by all, great to see young Jake picking up one of the top prizes. WELL DONE !!!! A nice new kite board, lucky bu**er :D Adam asked me to remind peeps to keep an eye on his web site for info on the Kitedeck that is still up for grabs, only needs a little bit of written work "best KiteJam moment" Good luck Carl.
Howard Marks Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I left at about 4.30pm and was thinking that the wind might blow in...I would have really liked to have flown at west shore...perfect flat water! Top event from the guys in wales...(my new fav event of the year;) ) How can it get any better next year?
Cameron1599968655 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 i am heading over to middleton sands tomorrow to get some buggying in. The sands are dry is anyone else up for it? Went over to day to have a look but there was no wind!
SandMonster Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 How can it get any better next year?...more days.....(allegedly)..... ...would love to go midd sands tomoz, but got to work...
Cameron1599968655 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 i love being a student!!! problem is i only have 1 month of holiday left!!! oh and i trip to tiree for a week!
big-jon Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Just a little note to applogise to anyone who is waiting to get their membership application completed. I do have a number of applications sat here waiting for me to finish them off. I am just finding it difficult to fit everything in that I have to do. I am trying hard to split my free time in between organising the October event and being both membership and club secretary. When it all goes a little t'ts up and something gives then I am sure a lot of people out there will be very quick to comment, but I will know that I have asked for help and will not be to blame personally. I am trying my best and will get to them ASAP. Sorry again and thanks for your patience.
Bobby Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Cool afternoon/evening - bit of everything in that SSWesterlie. Big waves, little waves and lots of lagoon fun . Loads of ksurfers down, beach looked ace with the sun setting behind the kites. Love it when the foam breaks and the suns on it as you scoot through it . Looks great for tomorrow afternoon - West or NWesterlies . If any of you landlizards want a go on one of my spare boards drop us a pm. If you ain't got a wettie no problem, the global warming waters warm.
Graham M Posted September 13, 2005 Author Report Posted September 13, 2005 Got the day off tomorrow so I'll be wet-suited up and trying out my board. Expect to have mutegrab-ariel gybes sussed by the end of the day(whatever that is)
Bobby Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Good man Graham - I'll be down around 5 unless I can devise a cunning plan , in which case I'll get down around 3:30. High tides at 21:00, so with 15ish WNWesterlies forecast, and the lagoons filling up around 4:30ish, looks like it's gonna be a hoot .
gingerob19 Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Just got back from a fooking ace week in Tarifa with Andy, Phil and James... Flown everyday for seven days without fail.... was mint Fantastic festival too, didn't go out most nights until 2am as the bars didn't close till 8am Body is now knackered and ready for some sleep - Here's some pics which sum up the week of Team Rancid http://www.aospkc.org.uk/Rob/tarifa%20103.jpg http://www.aospkc.org.uk/Rob/tarifa%20115.jpg http://www.aospkc.org.uk/Rob/tarifa%20050.jpg http://www.aospkc.org.uk/Rob/tarifa%20042.jpg

Bobby Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 2nd pic Rob is a classic, Tarifa looks way cool.....nearly as cool as tonights beach blast . Out on the water till dark, a real good session one of those you mull over in a hot bath afterwards and that keeps you going till the next time . Carl was ripping it up - screaming sideways across the beach, thought the dude was never going to stop. Graham out and up on his very 1st water attempt - and popped a little 'un - nice one mate. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/sky.jpg Another great sky. http://www.bobmcgee.com/images/kites/moon.jpg Forget Egypt - Moon Beach Ainsdale style
Graham M Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 Had my first session on the water today. The tide was still a fair way out at first so started in the waves.Putting the board on my feet was hard enough never mind getting up and planing but eventually THE LAGOONS appeared and all the frustration was forgotten when I managed a few decent runs and even a pop off the water:D . Well knackered now -but in a good way:)
