  3. Hi All! I am just about to move to the kings lynn area, an I am looking for some like minded people to meet up with. Any one know of any clubs or reg meeting places? I am a novice kite boarder, and also do some buggie and land boarding. Cheers! Wayne..

    Wetsuits

Hi all! If your looking for rash vests for the winter, best to buy a titanium lined vest. They are super worm, and can be used with a pair of board shorts in the summer. Single layer suits are Ok for windsurfing as the water runs of very easily. However single layer rips quiet easily. You would be best going for Double layer construction, just in case of the drag along the beach sindrome, also some knee pading. You can buy suits which are made of both single and double combined. Normaly the single layer is around the Body area. These give the best of both worlds. Good Hunting!

    bullet

Have to agree with Muttley! Own both kites and much prefer the bullet's when in the buggy. Have been out in some strong winds with the Bullet's and they produce very little up lift. As for stability I dont see how the blade 3 is more stable than the Bullet, the bullet is Rock stable. I dont know about flexi producing a race kite in the future I dont see whats wrong with the Bullet give me a 7m.....
  6. Good luck on the lesson! Fine in the rain as long as it is in a shower, just keep a eye out for storm clouds forming though. If they look kind of stormy call it a day asyou offer a lovely target..
  7. Not many obsticals in the water? nice soft landing? not on the board, just body draging. Nothing to hit the head on? Why wear a helmet? Lets not forget there are other users than you on the water. Ok people can see the great kite in the air or on the water, but with 30 meter lines not everyone will know exactly where you are. SPECIALY IN SURF. Windsurf and surfbord fins can easily plant themselfs in your little bobing head. when other users are coming in on the top of waves and you are down below not forgeting the good old jet bikers... Have seen it done. Wear a Helmet...
  8. I have one like that, I keep twisting the buttons but canot get it to open. I see this is the LEI version. Mine is one of the ram air inflatable type...
  9. I am originaly from the sunny isle, go back all the time to see the family. Ryde beach is mint, loads of lovely sand. Quite hard to, which helps alot. Dont forget to check the local tide times though.I also go to Sea Close Park some times..
  10. Fly in light winds first as they have a totaly different feel to the bullet. They can get some really good lift, just air on the side of coution on the size, as winter winds are coming. would try to meat up with other kiters and try first. The 6.6 is a powerful kite, would go a little smaller. My 4.9 works well in moderate winds, can get scarry in gusty conditions and I am around 14 stone. Respect the power.
  11. Bet you get some good speed of the 3.5, I know my 2.5 pulls like a train in the right winds, nice kite. You should be ok with the Blades, good lift on them. Have you flown one befor?
  12. The Bullet has been designed to use as a buggie engine, and there for gives next to no lift. very hard to jump, if you like to do a lot of jumping while land boarding you need a blade or a kite which has been designed to give lift..
  13. No I was over there between 1100 to 1330 in the afternoon, not sure who that would have been! I normally fly a gray & black blade or a purple & gray bullet.
  14. Hi Mate, Should be good wind at the weekend. Iam of to visit family this weekend, Should get some boarding in. Will be over the race course the weekend after, will pop over and say Hi, if I see ya.
  15. Hi Mate Normaly over the old race cource, or over kettering way. Head over to Hunstanton for the boarding. Where do you fly?
  16. Hi mate! Sorry to hear about the kite. Last year I had a nice rip in my 14m storm, those nasty shells. Sent it of for repair to Flexi, they phoned me to give me a quote. Was expecting a big one, but they said they could patch it for around £15 or sew a new panel in for £35, including return delivery from city link, had it back with in a week. Kites as good as new and I have got Flexi kites ever since..
  17. Hi Not to sure of the differance between the fusion and the storm, looking on the spec's posibly the back support and the power belt system at a guess. I have not seen the storm. All I can tell you is the fusion is great. There should be no need to upgrade the spreader bar. When I purchased mine they gave the price for the harness then the bar was purchassed sepratly. Just ask the dealer. But make sure its one of the stainless steel , hammer head kite bars. Chttp://www.dakine.com/base.cfm
  18. I also do a lot of Kyaking through the winter months and find a dry cag and thermal layers work fine. Both systems have there pros and cons. I use a rip curl winter steamer for surfing, which is dead snug in the water. If you do deside on a wetsuit though, make sure you get something made from double layer neoprine around the bits that count. Single layer works better as water runs of the surface to reduce wind chill. However single layer tears easy especialy around the harness area a lot of companys are starting to make over clothes. These alow you to keep down the wind chill factor of a wetsuit when out of the water.
  19. As above, I use a Dakine Fusion. A little pricey but definatley worth it though. Very comfy and good build quality as you expect from Da Kine. Very good Back support, and the power belt is dead comfy. Make sure you get it with a stainless steel kite bar though. Have heard some shops selling them with the alloy windsurfing bars to make them a little cheaper. As for waste or seat harness, its a case of preference some waste harnesses can ride up but are preferred for jumping, as rotations are supose to be easier. I like the seat harnesses as I use to windsurf and find they give you a good hook position to let you sit your weight back!! ps/ I know what you mean about the Quadrifoil, thats what I first used..
  20. Have heard lots of complaints about bike speedo's breaking of when crashing. Maybe one built into the frame in an easy to see position, with all wires and pieces hidden out the way. This woul save the cost of constantly buying new ones. :D
  21. Hi Pete, Hope you are well, I am back at home now. Good to see your getting out and about. Picked up my storm 10m the other day, headed straight over to Old Hunstanton, Kite flys like a dream. I think the only way to change your user name is to register a new account with a different name. I am on three weeks holiday now, so let us know when your of to the Race Course and I shall try to pop over. Wayne..
  22. Hi Pete, Sorry it's taken a while to reply, I am currently working away from home, only get home some weekends. I Shall keep an eye out for you and come and say hello when I manage to get a weekend with good wind or no ballon festival. I am originaly from the Isle Of Wight, but moved up to Bicester for a while then across to Northampton. I am a Southampton Football Supporter though.. Hope to meet soon. Wayne
  23. Cheers Pete, Not far from the house, I will pop over and have a look. Might see you there.. Wayne.
  24. Have recently moved to Northampton myself, have been looking for a good spot.. Where is the Race course? Sounds like it could be worth a visit..
  25. A little walking and a little expense, but the odd day trip to Ryde on the IOW could be worth it. Make sure you check the tides though.
