  1. I am 105KG and have had my AIR -S for 4 years. It have given it a real battering and land big jumps on 3-4 sessions a week. I have No problems with it. I have the newer model as well which is more springy and a far better board than the original.
  2. I have flown and own all of the Blade models. I think you have to really take into consideration where you are going to fly. The B1 is very raw and rough and can be unprictable in Gusts. The B2 is the best out of the Models for dealing with Gusts. I actually prefer this Model over the smaller B3 sizes. The B3 is all or nothing . All at the Edge of the window and the zenith, and not very smooth acroos the Window. It is dangerous in gusty conditions. I actually Tore my hamstring being pulled by a gust on a 4.9 M and I am 16 Stone. The Bigger B3 are good as the Slower movement gives a more even pull across the window. I think the B2 6.4 is a really good kite to have in the bag , as it probably covers the best range of wind we get in the UK.
  3. Lansdown Fields are ideal in Southerly Winds. The south side field is best for this direction. North Side field used for Football on Saturdays , so please avoid , to stop any possible banning . South Side Field used on Sunday for Football. Again as above.
  4. Am heading down to Tarifa in Early May. Anyone any experiance of Landboarding around here. Is the sand Hard Packed enough?
  5. I fly both my 7.8 and 10.5 M blades with the X-over fitted and on 2 lines , no safety. I also use an 80 cm bar. This is the business. Keep a carefull eye on the wear of the lines on the x-over as the Rings do tend to wear down lines after a while.
  6. Watergate Bay Ok when winds do not have any East of any kind in them. If they do then I found Mawgan Porth Beach is good as there are no Cliffs.
  7. Does anyone know the Wind Range of the Sabres? I have been holding off getting any depower kite until sabre is available. I thought that they would have had a bigger size at the top end of the range. I very rarely go out on anything other than my 7.8 or 10.5, this is on 2 lines on a bar as well, and am thinking that the Sabre will not have enough lift compared to the Blade 3.
  8. If the winds are blowing anything off the East then go to Mawgan Porth Beach, everywhere else will be crap. Mawgan is also good right through the tides as even at High TIDE the sand is hard packed enough to board, unlike watergate.
  9. I have the same fustrations in Gusty Conditions. The B2 is hugely better in Gusty Conditions. The other night I had my B2 7.8 M out with X-OVER and 80 CM Bar. All the others had B3's out of various sizes upto 8.5m, and i was ripping and no one else could get their kites or boards going. In Cornwall last week I had same problems in Gusty conditions with the B3 4.9 M , I couldn't get it off the ground and when i did it was full on powerr then nothing, had to get the B1 3.3 out in the end to make any use of the wind. When the Wind is PERFECT then the B3 rocks but as Landboarding is generally carried out in Gusty places for most then it is a very frustrating kite . I cant wait till Flexi bring out the Depower Ram Air in Sept as it is going to be between the Bullet and Blade 3 in power terms . They should also learn from the Snow Kites(Husky) etc that are built for gusty conditions.
  10. Hi Mate, I lived in Highbury till last April and i use to use the field below parliment hill just in front of the running track on Hampstead Heath. I also use to use Clissold Park. Dave
  11. Yes, Yes Go for the X-over kit, i have one on my 10.5 and it makes a huge difference. I spoke to flexifoil and the guy said he would recommend one for all blade models 4.9M and above. You will have to tweak the X-OVER kit a little bit on the sliding knots due to the differences in the B3 profile to that of the B2 . I had to move the Sliding knot away from the silver factory set markings by about an inch. It took about a hour messing about to get the correct set up.
  12. Try removing the kite killers and brakes lines , and tie the brakes on the bridal to the mains and try flying it on 2 lines. I have all my blades set up like this apart from the big ones which have the x-over kit fitted , but still on 2 lines. If it doesn't fly ok then there IS something wrong.
  13. ican, Hi guys, i am back at work in the North sea now. I had a look around yesterday for other locations. One that i have used and works ok is in Weston Village. Number 14 bus from the City. Get off the bus in the highstreet. In Weston you will see the zebra crossing, head back towards somerfields, turn right up the hill. At the top of the hill , there is the primary school on the left. On the right is an open playing field , about the size of 4 footy pitches. There are no obstructions on it and it tends to get the wind funneled onto it from the cotswold way walk. It is empty of people most of the year as well. It is owned by the council. The other place of course is the racecourse ground itself. I have thought about colerne airfield, it is used for car rally and meets , but i cannot find out who owns it.
  14. All who board here , please be careful not to dig up any of the pitches that are muddy, the one nearest the toilet block is the worst. The Council Guy in the office came and stopped 2 of the lads today saying it was ok to fly kites only during the winter but no wheeled vehicles due to the wait for this:- ' The wheel tracks being left across the pitches could cause a tripping hazard for footballers and if they injured themselves they could sue the council' I walked across all 3 fields today and the one nearest the park and ride is the worst mud wise, but by no means bad. I was riding here yesterday and you could bearly make out my tracks and if anything the tracks were flattening the boot scuff and sliding tackle marks already evident. It peaves me off that they make no mention of all the dog owners who let their dogs crap on the pitches which is far more hazardous. I think that during the week , it will not be a problem as the office is not usually manned, but weekends it is. I would try and stick to the field nearest the tower , you can park in the rugby club car park, the gate is not locked. This field is good for the same wind directions as the car park field. But the tower field is out of view of the office block. The same goes for the North playing field, this is out of view and also doe not get damaged easily. I can see that if the situation starts getting worse on the relations front then the council will step in and totally ban wheel vehicles altogether not just in the winter. THERE IS NO BAN AT PRESENT , JUST THE OFFICE GUY WHO LOOKS AFTER THE PITCHES HAVING A WORD, BUT WAIT FOR THE SIGNS TO APPEAR AND USE YOUR COMMON SENSE.
  15. cant wait to see the jumps with that monster
