  1. Mate, let's put an end to this nonsense. Make your own choice. If you have enough common sense, you will know when to wear a lid. If u don't (have enough common sense) then please stop kiting! Think. Packed sand may not split your nut but what if you get dumped in mid air and fall stupidly onto your own board with your nut hitting the board! If ur not doing air but just sailing up an down the beach, u probably don't need a lid but it doesn't hurt to wear one does it just incase. And then u don't know what's lurking just beneath the surface of packed sand do you? Go down the beach one day and there's rocks everywhere, go the next and they're gone but are they? Sand covers rocks too and if your unlucky (which sod's law usually takes care of) you might just fall on a bit of sand that has a nice rock just cm's underneath! The wind can do strange things too, afterall it is a body of it's own. Look at the kitesurfer that got thrown onto his own house roof the other day! he was about 4 foot in the air doing a trick and a sudden gust just hurled him way into the air, over some trees and dumped him on his own beach house roof! It's probably rare but it can happen! know yourself, and when u think u should wear a lid - do it. And most of all, if u crack ur nut cause u didn't wear a lid, don't come crying here! P.s. page 100 in the latest kitesurf magazine has a good article explaining just why u should keep ur hat on!
  2. Check it out! http://www.kite-surf.com.au/gallery/Riders/tits What u reckon, worth investing in?
  3. OK I answered yeah! Deffo need somin settin up eh! but read on if interested... (Just an idea)... Why not create CLANS? i.e. for each area there's a Kite Clan! Then, every so often there's a major meet between Clans. Each meet will be held at a different Clan's local kiting area say once a month or so and that Clan is responsible for organizing the show - that way we all get a chance to experience all your wicked kiting spots as well as showing you who masters ours! Each Clan could elect a Fuehrer (hehe or watever you wanna call em) and they can be the contact for each area. I'm a Web Developer and I'd suggest setting up a site where all the clans register and from there everything can be organised and we can communicate seriously. I could sort it out for nothing and I reckon it'd fly! We could call red bull and channel 4 in say quarterly and have a massive event at suitable grounds and each clan would vote for their two or so best players to enter the race/freestyle comp. They could sponsor Prizes for the event because afterall, they're making money advertising and broadcasting innit? We need to get ourselves organised/recognized! Anyway, just an idea, no doubt I'm talking s_h_i_t_e .
  4. Cheers for the link mate, will get in touch with them!
  5. Hi Guys, I'm from over in the Landboard section. However, some mates do kitesurfing and I definetely wanna get into it. Have been looking at all sorts of destinations and have decided Cabarete is the one, apparently it has best conditions all year round. So I'm gonna go out there in january for 10 days - 2 weeks. Will get some tuition though Ive been told if I master kitelandboarding I should have no trouble at surfing! Anyway, any info appreciated, can't wait to go! Ps. http://www.kitecamp.com is where I wanna lodge - looks wicked! Cheers Guys, ...a kitesurfer to be...

  12. Hey all, was wondering how good a blade III 4.9 is in lightish winds i.e. 12 - 18 mph? am currently using a 3.0 in 20+ and its a chore but we all know when you get a day like today and the wind just aint strong enough but you desparately wanna kite - arghhh! Don't really wanna get anything bigger than 4.9 just yet but have heard so often the 4.9 is "the one" to have. Also wanna get some bigger air Cheers, flash.
  13. Hey, am having similar wonders. Andy, what do you mean "Only lead with your right foot"? You mean when jumping I hope! Dunno how any1 can ride heelside, scares the c outa me just thinking about it. What kite u using Trebor?
  14. Have u got a flexi airdeck? I have one and though I admit the trucks aren't the strongest and the board is quite heavy, it's still a good board and despite people claiming u can't downhill on it I've had some wicked downhilling sessions on it, even built some wooden jumps and done some midair 180's! However, I do like the look of the Trampa and having read all the threads about it it is said to be one of the toughest boards out there. I dunno what it costs, is it 300ish? if so I can only assume that the boys selling them are just starting out maybe and have to charge more till they get going. Only an assumption. I'd like to try a trampa definetely!
  15. serious, the blade III handles well, start off with a 3m, it's plenty to begin with and should see you through the winter as the stronger winds come in. then upgrade to a 4.9. they're wicked! Just my opinion. Bullets good too though. Like ur man said, see what others are using... Have fun!
