  1. oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh if only i read this forum more often i would of seen this post and gone up there :( http://www.flexifoil.com/community/forums/images/icons/banghead.gif
  2. I get air in a weird way. Hook into the harness and apply the brakes until it is as far down the window as possible without you getting dragged. Brace yourself, and then unhook from the harness and power up letting it shoot as fast as possible to the top of the window. When at the top of the window and pull is really strong, jump, and the kite will keep lifting you:) never quite got the hang of the pendulum jump, but that version works for me with my 4.9 blade:)
  3. ......................you have a one in 1.5 billion chance of being killed by a shark!
  4. lol he is BLATANTLY holding the strop with his teeth;)
  5. thanks, sorry if i seemed like a smart alec:)
  6. woah i didn't mean to upset you or anything or seem smart:(! I was just pointing out that the flexideck was made by dirtsurfer, and that the flexdeck is by flexifoil and that the flexideck by dirtsurfer may have been the board you were thinking of! Didn't mean to offend you mate:)
  7. nope - that's the FLEXIDECK by dirtsurfer. Notice the subtle "I" in the middle of the name;) - it's therefore flexi not flex (deck). Get what i mean?
  8. I have a flexdeck. It kicks a$$. Need i say more? OK, so you can't use it without a kite very well, if at all, but it does what it is made for perfectly. I have never ridden an ATB before, only blades (inline skates, not the damned kite;) ), and i found that i could stand on it as soon as i stepped on it. After about 15-20 minutes of use, i could go in a straight line and turn a little as well. However, the last 5 minutes of those 20 were the most crucial, i got on it and went like a bullet (must of been going pretty quick i guess), as they were when i mastered the art of the straight line lol. The first 15 i kept falling off because there was no wind on the days when i used it. Basically, if you have a semi-decent sense of balance, you'll be able to get going in a straight line in minutes with the right wind and kite (with a flexdeck). Haven't been on it since, but i can't wait til i get the chance Flexdeck rules:)
  9. k thanks. How quick is it through the sky? (another compairson??)
  10. What BII would you compare the blade III 6.6's power to? I'm thinking of saving up, and am wondering if i should buy that or go for a larger kite??
  11. shameless PKS plugging....... ......i like it;)

    Help for Kids

How about a small little devil - they seem to be quite good - not too powerful, but they have enough power (especially for someone small) and would teach him the basics, oh and they wqouldn't break the bank too much either

    A Kite-Fest

Couple of bands at school would probably be up for providing some music - they both gig in and around Cheltenham and have played at various local music festivals. I could probably get a few guys together + band members down to the place. Lemme know if you want ne more info about the band.
  17. Only ever used flexi lines. Never let me down with my 4.9m blade II or my old super 10:D
  18. there ios a point when a kite is no longer a kite, but a parachute, sail or something like that - LOL - those sizes are INSANE!!!
  19. The term for being tall is "lanky" - at 6'4" i get asked about the wetaher quite a lot - ah well, height has some advantages, ummmmmmmmmm, you can hang things from the ceiling easier???????
  20. I voted feet too - looks like it's pretty much decided then
  21. How do you measure a jump? a) By the feet - you measure how high the feet are off the ground, so if i jumped 10ft, my head would be at just over 16ft. b) By the head, if you jumped 10ft, your head would be at 10ft. Stupid question, but just wondering - this mainly makes me wonder with big jumps, as 10ft is one helluva lot higher if you measure the feet!

    tethered

Wise words - but must hurt a bit if you hit the floor thru the sea, altho i guess the water must break your fall! Would only ever try it over the sea come to think of it - but even then i'd be skeptikal. What about jumping huge heights - on beach or land, what if you get too high and have no real control of the kite - what would you do then, just hold on and pray that the wind doesn't die down too much (especially with a gust)?????????? Especially if you are like 10ft and climbing..........??

    tethered

Nice one ed;) Just copy and paste the actual URL in, you don't need the tags at all if it starts with http it will automatically link it - oh and it's easier to do that too! I was thinking of trying teathered flying sometime, now i am thinking of not trying it - sounds way too daft, and i'd rather not break legs and maybe even die doing it - way too dangerous, and i'm still too much of a newbie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    tethered

Tying youself to something whilst flying a kite so you can't get pulled away from a certain spot more than the rope will let you - usually you are tied to a harness, this is VERY dangerous. See this thread here: http://www.flexifoil.com/community/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13945
  25. I suppose i would do it - with a huge kite in moderate winds (10-15mph with a blade II 6.4+????) but not attatched to anything - people holding onto the rope. That way i'll get jolted less, they'll be able to bring me down easier, and with a larger kite a small drop in wid wouldn't create a large drop in Joelio
