What i did works a treat...because rubber is good for when it is dirty, the grips that come with the board have a use, but when its wet they tend to slip, and they become crap. Grip tape (like on skateboards) works really when its wet but becomes useless when there is lots of dirt underfoot....so to get the best of both worlds, i have put grip tape on the edge of the rubber bits all the way to the edge of the board so there is grip tape under my heels and rubber under my toes. Works great no matter what the conditions

mgs, i have a 6.6 on handles took it out again today in 10-15mph cleanish wind, seemed to perform better that the previous attempts...i have noticed that it will seem to fly very quickly from side to side right near the zenith, and gives good lift as a result, but when launching and close ground passes, it seems alot slower and took some serious persuasion on a few launches. I have connected the break lines to the second knot on the brake bridle and have a decent bit of sag in the lines during flight. I cant seem to find any tuning tips anywher other than on a few sites inc. this one

is there any particular place that i can get info on setting up and tuning a blade III? i have trawled through all the past posts and have gathered bits and pieces but has anyone put together a guide? or is this just wishful thinking?
-
Took my 6.6 out for the first time today and had wondered whether the performance was as good as it should be....loads of pull, very consistent through the window, it would brake turn nice and quick but it did seeem a slow actually moving through the air... (hell, maybe its just cos of all the posts i have read discussing bridle setups on the bIII's making me paranoid!) It was a choppy wind, anything from 17 mph to 5mph but my brakes were nice and slack so that shouldnt have been a problem...but it would not lift me at the zenith and i did struggle to leave the ground no matter what i did (too many pies maybe?). I reckon that i will reserve judgement until i get a nice clean consistent wind and then see how it performs. At the end of the day, its a different kite to my old BII 4.9 so i shouldnt make too many expectations

Just seen a thread regarding good service at shops (see airbossworld) and felt like i had to my bit too... just had the most enormous wait for my blade since mine got nicked just as the blade ii was being replaced with the iii's. As we all know, there was a huge blade drought so phoned around all the flexi dealers and was told that there were next to no blades anywhere! a shop called Airotherapy called me back two days later and said that when they did get some in, they would offer me an offer i couldnt refuse! in short, i have just recieved my kite, lines, 9 " sand stake, skywatch eole windmeter and kite killers for all well below the average RRP of the kite and lines alone! plus i was kept updated every week as to the progress of the blade shortage and when i would recieve my goods. fantastic service, great advice and amazing value for money. the best customer service i've seen for a long time! Huge thanks to Martin at Airotherapy!

if memory serves, they are actually about 8 quid and the website has the wrong price...they are cheaper because they are minus VAT due to the shop not being on the UK mainland. having said that, i am not sure if they are the same brand. the ones at TOTEK are good, i had a pair until they got nicked. now i have flexifoil ones which are much much chunkier with elasticated cords...havent tried them yet but i reckon they could be more uncomfotable than the TOTEK ones

been waiting 5 weeks...got about three more to go....its for a 6.6 B3 at a very good price...just gotta hang in there somehow
-
can i ask what you paid? its just that some shops that i have approached said that despite not having any in stock, they could do me a deal when they did have some in stock, and this was well below the rrp
-
thats the problem...i want a 6.6...and no-one seems to have any and no-one seems to know when they will get more in... would appreciate any info or if anyone knows if a particular shop that has some in stock
-
i would love to know where you got it too! been searching high and low and not found one yet. same old reply, the wait for the next delivery of 6.6's is as long as a piece of string

Anyone know what the situation is with the blade 3 shortage? Been without a kite for 3 weeks and have been told i should expect to wait another 6 ! ! ! and this is despite trawling through a dealer list phoning all the stockists....

my car insurance company said they they could only offer me £100 for personal goods...and then told me there was a £100 excess on such a claim...and then they STILL asked me if i wanted to proceed with the claim ! ! ! ("so i give you £100 and then you give me £100 back?" "yes sir, thats right" "oh just f*ck off") so i took out a home contents policy with an out-of-home policy which now covers my kites...the only problem is i HAVE NO kites yet.
-
I feel for you man! just had my blade nicked from my car....and you are probably right, they will have no idea what they have got. Just hope that you have insurance and can claim it back...i didnt if its any consolation, just hope that they take it out in a nice 25 mph wind and lauch it! wont bring your kite back but oh the karma!!

Posted this on another thread if you are interested - just in case anyone is interested, i've had a go on the new Kheo air-s and overall it is very nice. I dont have a huge amount of experience with atb's but i can compare it with my air-s i got just before the new model came out the board is more cambered and has a lower C.O.G. It also has some sort of coating which helps shed water and dirt trucks are now black and seem to be some generic make as there is no brand on them (mine are made by Beyond). They are lighter but do not seem to be very well made, the bushings and washers break almost immediately as do the pivot bushings. Recommended replacement is Independant bushings and washers. Bindings are the same The wheels are primo strikers and they are lovely...much lighter than the diamond treads and the graphics are...just different - here nor there really overall quite distinctively lighter and lower to the ground At £169 its well worth the money i reckon (shame about the trucks though)
