  1. 2.2m or 2.7m Yakuza in +30knots - "Got the tiger by the tail" is the expression that springs to mind. And if you want to go fast - that'll do it Can second the recommendation for Yakuzas - only have 5m at the mo' but it really rocks.
  2. I got 101.3 km/hr on my GPS. Admittedly that was the Kombi maxed out on the south eastern though.... Nice work Nigel
  3. Good photos! That looks like FUN!! I worked in Sharjah for almost two years but rotated in and out through Dubai (Working on those rigs that help carve up your desert tracks...). Have bookmarked the classifieds, just in case there's a nice package for me too ..... Nigel mentioned another possible buggy related visit next year some time. Myself and another buggier here VERY keen so will keep our ears open and stay in touch. Just got a bigfoot setup sorted and looking for similar terrain in south western Victoria (There's a dune buggy club with access to some good places or so we hear).
  4. As above it was $370 (Including shipping), not $300. Will do it for $350 if you're interested, pm and let me know.
  5. Very good wind down along the Bellarine Penninsula of the southerly kind this weekend. I put the narrow axle back on the buggy for some light wind entertainment early last week and hadn't changed back before getting out Friday and again this morning in stronger winds. 69.9km/hr coming back from Pt Lonsdale (It was a much slower reach to get up there - 20 to 30km/hr). Felt VERY fast with the twitchy narrow axle on and the buggy is considerably lighter with the short axle and narrow wheels. Two wheel action at +50km/hr anyone? Might have to consider that full face helmet. This morning was similar conditions, powered up fully with Yakuza 5.0m and hit 67km/hr on a solid gust (Avg was between 50 and 60 mostly), again coming back from the lighthouse. Makes me laugh out loud - and people wonder what the attraction is.... Bigfoot buggy up and running Will get off my butt and post a couple of pics. Sandy Point will be a whole new experience.
  6. Can't help but point out the main error made - buying a C-quad in the first place
  7. Large list and not enough time. PL modified comp, Land Lizard, and a UK LL copy (A Rapid Rabbit would you believe . All stainless Main recurring failures = welds at axle, bent axles (Including standard short, mini-giga and giga-PL axles) and 12mm bolts failed. Other main failure was seats and stiching from absorbing landings (Also cause of bent axles I guess). Useless PL alloy rims that can't handle side loading (2 wheel stuff, back to plastic!). Oh yeah, downtube has too many holes drilled in it so it also twisted out of whack (Again due to nasty sideways landings). Bent forks (Impact - my fault). Home mods, Criags sewing, and a local welder sorted most of it. Go hard and shit happens.....

    Helmets

On the "Any helmet is better than none" subject..... : http://www.pippingaustralia.com.au/gallery.php Seriously - basic bike helmet IS better than nothing and wearing a helmet of any type is potentially good for you AND implies to the watching public that we do consider safety a priority.
  9. bottom (Lightest) string from an old guitar works well as a sleeving tool...
  10. Port Phillip heads link as you have it there is the go. Barwon Heads is only 18 to 40 minutes different and it will make sod all difference to you beachwise. A couple of hours either side of low is useable generally unless it's a particularly high low tide (Make sense?). Remember to allow for daylight savings for a little while yet... Tonik Surf shop in Barwon Heads has tide guides which are handy for the fridge, and Speakys surf seconds shop in Geelong has those Ripcurl tide clocks for $50 or $60 which you can set to whatever location you like. All handy stuff
  11. Barwon Heads run?? That sounds like something I might be interested in Wind looks crap for the beach until maybe Monday though on Seabreeze. Friday will be strong winds if you need a fix (Belmont Common?) Maybe next week will be solid southerlies for four or five days? 8)
  12. Nope - should have stuck it on eBay if we wanted an auction Buggy is SOLD! Money recieved this time so no doubt! Cheers all for looking.
  13. I'm 90kg so can't see it being an issue. It's pretty solidly built. Give Goshen at Kitepower a call for a reference if you like as I don't have paypal or anything. I'll ship it through him if you pm me some details and confirmation that you're keen - and I'll send back some bank details.
  14. House is available from Friday night. Craig and I will have the keys and access from some time in the arvo.
  15. Flexi buggy is a top piece of kit too so you're still getting the good gear. Bullet passing a Razor? Going the other way perhaps? Anything is possible at Sandy Point in nasty northerlies.....
  16. That quality Peter Lynn gear eh? Got a nicely built Parastorm for sale in the other section there .Joel...
  17. Jealous? He he he... Right... Good to know that the speed dating worked out.
  18. Harem = living quarters reserved for wives, concubines, and female relatives in a Muslim household. Even in the sense you meant it he may have been like me and found it difficult to imagine you hanging out with multiple female forms But we're getting away from the topic at hand.....
  19. Results tell the story - that C-quad out in front in the photo must have been during practice..... (Just kidding Nigel - I did see you up ahead there for the first lap or two....)
  20. $50 - Can arrange to ship within Australia but at buyer cost (I can get a quote if interested). 1000mm super heavy duty rear axle to suit Standard Peter Lynn buggy. 15mm stub axles. Convert from the ever breakable standard rear axle and 12mm bolts.
  21. Re-advertising - previous arrangment fell through when buyer failed to follow through. :x $600 - Includes shipping anywhere within Australia. Buggy was imported from China pre-production and as far as I know is the only one in Australia. Designed in the UK and built by the same crowd that crossed the Gobi desert and attempted the North pole (Nutters apparently, but buggy construction is first rate). It's tubular alloy. Tough as hell and super light. Bought it to use it for jumping but find that I tend to just get the old PL airborne when the conditions suit rather than taking it out specifically. 2nd hand but used on the beach exactly twice. Previously advertised on this site. Now includes rear wheels, buggy travel bag with separate wheel bag (Holds 3 wheels), and spare PL alloy rim and tyre. Frame and seat in basically new condition, wheels straight but second hand. Bags as new.
  22. And a good time was had by all.....
  23. 10:30am - wind is a solid 10 to 15 southerly - looking very nice for a cruise along 13th. See you down here...
  24. I could do with a lift across the bridge from Ocean Grove......
