  1. OK, so after much inland kite buggying I decided to take the plunge and head to Camber, well I have to say what an awesome time I had, sadly I probably had the smallest kite around (Ozone Flow 4m) but met some good people there, someone with a flysurfer speed, received a warm welcome from all. So to my point, I want to upgrade my kite and dont mind buying 2nd hand but what would you suggest as a de-power, I have an old rookie 2 flysufer however found this can be very unforgiving, since I am seriously considring having a go on water don't mind a LEI! Any tips suggestions that wont get me killed would be great!
  2. Just got back from the local park, tried the bottom field and soon realised the wind there is shockingly bad. Went up the top field and had some fun. 14 yr old got some serious air and I managed to master turning in the buggy which was a great feeling. Shame about the dog walker who came up and told us we should not be flying there. Luckily we spoke to the council and have permission to fly in any open space around our area! Which I was happy to inform her lol. Also met a guy who just started out with a 2 line kite and had welcoming chat with him. Cant wait for the next session which weather permitting will be Wednesday or Thursday.
  3. I am Currently loving my Old Flysurfer Rookie 2 that I got at an amazing price to introduce myself to the world of de-power. Just been out again in slighlty more powerful winds today and the pull was fantastic. If only I can get that turning without the luffing of my kite, that way I wont run over my lines and end up in a mess lol
  4. Thats Good News since I have all of that! And a free hotel to stay at near by. :-)

  16. I fly in my local park everytime I get a chance as do about 8 of us in total. Today some dog walkers just walked near me with no common sense as to the potential danger they were in if things had gone wrong. Rather than getting annoyed with them I hovered the kite above my head said a friendly hello to them, at which point the old gent started asking me about the kite and commented on how they enjoyed watching us fly. It seems to me as long you are friendly and curtious you seem to get respect from the other park users, yes they can get right in the way, but giving such a friendly vibe has so far really helped us here. Thats not to say that eventually someone will kick off, just they havenot yet touch wood!
  17. Parksy, your advice was spot on the guy I bought it from had flown it on handles last time and when he put the bar back on did the line the wrong way round. Took it out this evening and spot on perfect had it hovering above me and pulling well. Thanks alot for everyones Help on this matter. Its nice finding a sport where everyone is such a friendly bunch.
  18. I got this kite at a bargain price so I am still pleased with it, I think I am just going to have to play with the settings a little more on it to get it right. Thanks for all your help too!
  19. I am resting my ankle after coming down slightly hard, still its not bad enough to stop me flying tomorrow!
  20. I have a Flysurfer Rookie 2 6m, today was low winds although a gust at full power picked me up I have to say that was awesome it seems at the moment I have to pull the bar almost fully in to the chicken loop for it to take off and when its fully out it falls from the sky. I am just gettng used to the kite so not sure how it is supposed to act, from what I have read at full depower it should just hover above? I am thinking at the moment that I need slightly short power lines to enable this?
  21. I have just got my first depower kite and I am not sure if it is set right, I am a noob however if the kite is at full depower I.E the bar is as far forward as possible shoudl the kite then fall out of the sky?
  22. Thanks Gregga
  23. Had my maiden flight with my Flysurfer Rookie 2 this evening still smiling, also met up with some local flyers, friendly as always so the beginnings of a large group here in Basingstoke
  24. So you think the Rookie was a bad buy for my first depower Krazy? Your thoughts would be appricieated
